Why Did Jack Lose So Badly? Will Republicans Lose Congress Next Year?

Please let us know your opinion over breakfast any Saturday. We meet from 9:30am to 10:30am at Sal’s Coal Fired Pizza, 501 New Road in Somers Point. You don’t need to be a member (although we hope you will join for only $30). Your only obligations are to support U.S. Constitution and the basic values of traditional American liberty. . .  and to order and pay for breakfast off the menu and tip your server.

Here are some opinions posted on mainstream media and  our social media sites. (@landp1776 on X and @libertyandprosperity on Facebook).  These are just topics for discussion. Our organization has not yet discussed this or taken any position.  These positions are listed in random order an not necessarily in order of importance.

What is your opinion?

Above Featured Image: On Election Day, November 4, NJ.com posted a CNN Poll showing 37% of NJ voters approving of Trump’s performance in office and 63% disapproving.  Click Here for Link to NJ.com Post:  Trump approval rating sinks to new low in latest CNN poll – nj.com

Above Image: This week, a poll posted by World Population Review showed Trump with 40% approving and 58% disapproving his performance in office.  Are these numbers reliable?  Click Here for Link to Full Post:  Trump Approval Rating by State 2025

  1. The pro-Democrat Newark Star Ledger, NJ.com, blamed President Trump’s for Sherrill’s win and Ciattarelli’s defeat.  Click here for link to full post:  Donald Trump screwed Jack Ciattarelli: The N.J. gov race in 5 words – nj.com. 2. Ironically, several of our members wrote that Ciattarelli lost because younger voters wanted a candidate who was MORE like Trump!

3,  Above Image: Political campaign consultant and pollster Rick Shaftan claimed that Jack Ciattarelli’s  TV and radio ads never showed a clear contrast between him and Democrat Sherrill. Shaftan claimed “Ciattarelli’s ads never explained in detail what he would do to fix the damage done by Murphy during the past 8 years”.

More specifically, he never clearly said he would cut electric rates by rebuilding, reopening and replacing the six power plants shut down by Governor Murphy Ciattarelli spoke only in vague generalities that did not sound much different than what Shirrell was saying in her ads”. (One our members, CM wrote to us: “If I didn’t get your Liberty and Prosperity emails and just watched the TV ads, I would have thought Shirrell was the better candidate!”

Ironically, Jack Ciattarelli outlined a detailed plan for “Day One to turn the State around” during his successful Primary Election campaign against Bill Spadea last February! Above is a video of Ciattarelli’s speech to the Atlantic County Republican Convention in Galloway Township on February 22, 2025.

4. Economic Illiteracy: Most young Americans are right in believing the system is rigged against them. However, they are wrong in blaming capitalism. The system is rigged against them because we no longer have “capitalism”. We’ve had less and less of it ever since 1965!

5. One member wrote, “With the exception of Rita Rothenberg, the Cape May County Clerk, Republican candidates for Assembly or County or Local office failed to publicly promote Jack Ciattarelli or deliver a coherent Republican message. In Atlantic County and Cape May County all four Republican candidates for Assembly praised Murphy’s shell-game ‘ANCHOR’ fraud as ‘tax-relief’. Assembly candidate Clair Swift openly promised to work with Democrats ‘to help our district’ Assembly candidate Don Guardian supported spending more government money on more solar panels!”

6. One member wrote, “Jack Ciattarelli, like almost all Republican candidates,  based their campaigns on personality and likeability”.

7. “Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson and State Senator Vince Polistina, both Republicans, insulted each other on popular talk-radio programs”.

8. “Naeem Khan, the Republican candidate for mayor of Atlantic City did nothing to promote other Republican candidates or any Republican issues”.

9. “State, county, and local officials did little or nothing to recruit or prepare local school board candidates”.

10. “Republicans dominate Atlantic and Cape May County government and control Atlantic Cape Community College. However, the trustees they appointed hired a “woke” leftist to run the college, hire the faculty and indoctrinate students”

11. Seth Grossman observed, “Atlantic County Republicans set up a new Young Republican Group that did little or nothing to help Republican candidates. At the same time, it blocked members of Brian Fitzherbert ‘s existing Young Republican group working on a get-out-the-vote project.

12.”Certain Republican leaders, include two in South Jersey refused to share popular Liberty and Prosperity posts and radio spots on their social media”.

Above Image: Comparison of 2024 and 2025 Election Results in New Jersey. This year, Democrat Mikie Sherrill had 81% of the number of votes of Democrat Kamala Harris in last year’s election for President. Republican Jack Ciattarelli had 70% of the votes won by Donald Trump last November. Did almost 600,000 of last year’s Trump voters fail to vote for Ciattarelli because they did not think Ciattarelli was as good as Trump? Or did many people who supported Trump last year turn against him this year?

13. “Democrats cheated! We know that because Shirrell, a lackluster candidate got 500,000 more Democrat votes than Murphy got in 2021″. (But Sherrill got 400,000 FEWER votes than Kamala Harris last year!

15 . “Charlie Kirk was murdered on September 10. Since then, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes and other “groypers” spent the last 6 weeks viciously attacking Jews and Israel on social media instead of helping Republicans win in NJ and Virginia. This has crippled the effectiveness of Turning Point USA and the Heritage Foundation. two important conservative groups”.

Random thought:  What did you make of  Mikie Sherrill talking about “Liberty and Prosperity” and the importance of our Constitution during her victory speech?

  1. It’s a fact that less people vote in gubernatorial elections in NJ than they do for presidential elections. Trump received 800,000 more votes last year than Ciattarelli received the first time when he ran against Murphy. I’m inclined to think it was 1. Less motivation on the part of Republicans because “their guy” is in the president’s office. 2. Anger on the part of Democrats toward Trump. 3. Perhaps some cheating going on, with such a large increase in Democrats voting (nearly 500,000) since the last governor’s election. Not sure I can believe those numbers.

  2. I suspect that Republican seniors living single were targeted. I can’t find any of of my elder friends who were barraged with expensive-to-print, libelous and pointless anti-Trump “literature” which were all lies and pure prevarication. Promising free childcare was a whopping lure to the polls for younger working women. Why tell the truth when lies work better?
