Weekly Update – June 11, 2011

In Atlantic County, conservatives defeated union-backed regime candidates in three local elections. Aline Dix won in Hamilton Township (Mays Landing), Jim O?Neill and Lisa Brown won in Northfield, and Tom Milhouse won in Brigantine.
In the First Legislative District (Cape May and most of Cumberland Counties), ?Tea Party? candidates got clobbered. Tom Greto got 22% of the vote for State Senate. Peter Boyce got 14%, and Paul Halley got 12%. Among the problems of the Tea Party candidates.

New Jersey is one step closer to repealing RGGI (the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative)

?Congratulations to the Atlantic County Freeholders for being the latest elected officials to take a stand against RGGI (the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative). A special mention to Freeholder Joe McDevitt for sponsoring the resolution. Senator Jim Whelan is the only state legislator – Republican or Democrat – in the Atlantic City area still supporting this job-killing energy tax.
