Featured Image: The Atlantic County Republican Party invites visitors to its website to “get involved.” However, it does not invite potential candidates. It does not give contact information for the leaders of local Republican clubs. It does not mention when or where or when they meet.

Above Image: The Atlantic County Democratic Party invites “dedicated members of the community to serve as candidates at all levels of government-state, county, local and school board”. The Democratic Party offers to “get you up-to-speed on the relevant issues and guide you on how to run an effective campaign.” Potential Democratic Party candidates are asked to submit “a resume and a cover letter” before being interviewed.

During the past few years. most Democratic Party candidates in New Jersey promoted the Democratic Party agenda and delivered a simple and consistent Democratic Party message. This is why many of them defeated Republicans during the past two years. Even those candidates who lost won support for Democratic Party policies. They also made their party stronger and better able to win future elections.
Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew is a great candidate. He has a mission, a message, and discipline. He did more than any other person to stop ocean wind turbines in South Jersey last year. He is running for re-election. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Early voting will begin in just over nine months.
However, Republican candidates for state, county and local office did not promote Republican policies. They did not deliver Republican messages. Many of them lost winnable races. Those who lost made the Republican Party weaker. Very few of those who won said or did anything to make the Republican Party stronger.
In Atlantic County, the County Executive and eight of the nine commissioners (formerly freeholders) who run county government are Republicans. And yet:
- The selected a “woke” leftist to run Atlantic Cape Community College with biased race-based programs and instruction.
- The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) wastes millions on its fake recycling program. It promotes a leftist “climate change” agenda in our schools and falsely calls its failed wind turbines “a success.”
- Atlantic County’s Republican Commissioners refused to support a resolution opposing ocean wind. However, they are now proposing a resolution to support federal funding for local beaches.
- Atlantic County’s Republican commissioners have done nothing to build expand our inadequate youth detention center. Dangerous young offenders are either set free or housed in other counties for enormous expense,
- Atlantic County’s Republican commissioners have not publicly supported immigration enforcement or the repeal of “bail reform” to reduce crime.
How can we change this?
Do more than vote! Join your local political party and make it better. If you are a Republican and live in Atlantic County, join your town’s Republican club by contacting: Get Involved – Atlantic County Republican Committee, https://www.acrepublicans.org/get-involved/. If you live in Atlantic County and want to join your town’s Democrat club, contact: Sign Up — Atlantic County Democratic Committee, https://www.atlanticdemocrats.com/get-involved
If you live in Cape May County contact HOME | Cape GOP.com , https://www.capegop.com/ or LOCAL CLUBS | Cape May Democrats, https://www.cmcdems.com/local-clubs
(You may want to visit the sites of both parties to compare how they welcome new members!)

After you meet the members of the local club of your political party, consider serving on its “county committee”. The county committee are volunteers elected every four years from each town to run either the Republican or the Democratic Party in their county. County Committee members are elected this year on June 2. If you want to be a candidate, you must file your nominating petition by March 23.
Above Image: “Political Party Affiliation Form”. Not that only two “Political Parties” are recognized by New Jersey law. They are the “Republican” and “Democratic” parties. The other seven are called “political groups.” Those “political groups” cannot use Primary Elections to choose their candidates. Their candidates are rarely elected, if ever. By checking the box of any of those seven “political groups”, a voter disqualifies him/herself from voting in either the “Republican’ or “Democratic” Party Primary Election.
