Our Every Saturday Breakfast Discussions are inspired by Benjamin Franklin.  Shortly after returning to Philadelphia at age 21, Franklin formed a discussion group called “The Junto (Together)” They met each  week to discuss issues of “morals, politics, or natural philosophy” to improve themselves and their community.  Their group of about two dozen people included included printers, surveyors, a cabinetmaker, a clerk, and a bartender. Philadelphia’s first volunteer fire department, paid police department, public hospital, and America’s first public library were first proposed during those discussions.  Franklin often said that the Americans were uniquely well informed because we openly expressed our views and taught and learned from each other.  Those discussions probably inspired Franklin to write when he got older: 

“For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fully consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise”.   Benjamin Franklin

Every Saturday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am.  Online.

The second Saturday of each month is a business meeting limited to both voting and supporting (non-voting) members and invited guests. Supporting, non-voting membership dues are only $30 per year.  Supporting members are encouraged to attend and participate in business meetings.  Other meetings are open to anyone who supports American liberty and constitutional government.   Please use log-in information below.   Thanks.
