Host John DeMasi. Talk with a Purpose.

DEMOCRATS EXCITED.  THEY CLAIM VOTERS TURNING AGAINST TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS OVER EPSTEIN AND DEPORTATIONS. THEY EXPECT EASY WINS IN NJ AND VIRGINIA THIS NOVEMBER. DEMOCRAT CONTROL OF CONGRESS NEXT YEAR.

SETH GROSSMAN:  I was watching CNN with Democrats Rahm Emanuel and James Carvel the other night, and they were just bouncing, up and down with glee. They think they finally unraveled Trump. They think Trump is going down because of two issues. The deportations and the Epstein files.

First, these Democrats think that Trump supporters are stupid, ignorant bigots who fall for all these stupid conspiracy theories. And the biggest conspiracy theory is QAnon. The QAnon theory is that there is this secret society of evil pedophiles who have used money, sex and blackmail to control all these deep state and corporate leaders to do all these evil things.

And the QAnon believers think these evil pedophiles are responsible for everything bad in the world today. They’re manipulating the banks. They’re starting wars. They got us to give money to the Ukraine. They got us to give money to Israel. They claim bankers like the Rothschilds and billionaires like George Soros and Bill Gates are in on it.

And CNN and the Democrats came up with these polls showing that all these QAnon believers supported Trump. Because they believe Trump is working to expose all these pedophiles, bring them to justice and put an end to their evil schemes.

And the Democrats say that for years, Trump went along with the people who believed these conspiracies and that he was going to bring these evil people to justice.

So the Democrats are saying that when Trump said the case is over, and that there was nothing further to be done, his QAnon supporters feel betrayed. The Democrats are saying these people are all going to walk away from Trump, and that Trump is over. Republicans can’t win elections without these people.

And that’s why the Democrats were so happy this week.  That’s why the Democrats are making such big deal about this.

I don’t know. Does does that make any sense to you?

JOHN DEMASI: Yes. Yes. It does. Yes. I’m glad you, I’m glad you cleared that up for me.

SETH GROSSMAN: So really, the Epstein issue has nothing to do with Epstein. To the QAnon people who believe in this conspiracy, the issue is exposing this evil group of people responsible for all these bad things. And these people are convinced that Trump had the Epstein papers and that the Epstein List would expose all these evil people and that the world would be fixed.

So if Trump suddenly says he’s not doing this these people feel completely betrayed and angry. Now how many Trump supporters feel that way? I don’t know. But we’re going to find out.

Democrats are also happy because they think public opinion is turning against Trump on deportations. They say this because Trump promised to deport the worst of the worst criminals. But now, two thirds of the people being deported, have no criminal record-other than being in our country illegally. And because of that, Democrats are saying the American people are turning against Trump on this key issue of immigration.

So, of course, Democrats are playing all this up on their media. And Republicans really have to deal with this.

So back to Issue #1, I think I understand why Jeff Andrew is doing what he’s doing. He is saying “Look. All these people who support us are expecting these powerful Deep State political people to be exposed in the Epstein papers. So, if we don’t release them, we just confirm what they’re thinking.

So this is going to be as messy as it can be. And I really feel sorry for a lot of the victims. One very good reason for keeping these papers secret is you have girls who were 14, 15, 16 years old at the time. You don’t want their names to be  trashed or compromised. You know, it’s just a horrible situation.

But maybe the only way to get out of this is to say, here it is. And yes, it’s horrible. And Epstein was horrible, and he blackmailed a lot of people, and he had a whole network of very sick people out there. But they you cannot say that Epstein caused what is happening today in Israel, or the Ukraine, or the banking system.  So, I I think that’s why we hae to go there and release all those documents.

JOHN DEMASI: Well, again, thank you for clearing that up because you made it a lot clearer to me now.

REPUBLICANS NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY DEPORTATIONS ARE NEEDED. AND WHY WE HAVE LIMITS ON IMMIGRATION IN THE FIRST PLACE!

SETH GROSSMAN: Thank you. And and as far as the immigration, I think that even if Trump and his officials are not saying so, the rest of us have to scream at the top of our lungs why we have immigration laws, and why they need to be enforced.

There are 8 billion people in the world, and one quarter of them are living in horrible poverty. And if they had the chance, 2 million people would come to America tomorrow. And if they do that, they would destroy us. So we can’t let every person into this country who wants to be in this country, even if they’re nice, even if they have a hard luck story, even if we feel sorry for them and their kids.

It’s like being in a lifeboat that already has a 100 people in it. You take another 100 people, the lifeboat sinks. So we  have to get that message out. That’s something we have to do.

And by the way, another reason the Democrats are happy is that they are blaming Republicans for bad weather. They’re happy about all the, the rain, the floods, and the disasters. They’re saying “See, the Republicans just stopped wind turbines in the ocean. And because Republicans stopped wind turbines in the ocean, look at all these climate disasters we have.

So the the Democrats are playing the long game. They’re preparing for the elections for Congress next year. They’re using these two issues to undermine Trump. They’re hammering him with Epstein. They’re pushing sympathy for illegal immigrants to pressure Republicans into stopping the deportations.

DEMOCRATS AND MEDIA ARE BLAMING REPUBLICANS FOR BAD WEATHER! STORMS ARE NOT WORSE. BUT A LOT MORE PEOPLE ARE LIVING NEAR WATER.

And of course, they also want to blame Republicans for those tragic deaths caused by bad weather. And by the way,  all this death and destruction that we have from bad weather doesn’t mean the weather is worse than it was thirty or forty or fifty years ago. The problem is that people are building bigger homes by the water. I mean everybody wants to live by a river. Everybody wants to live by a lake. Everybody wants to live by the ocean. And so if you look at the science, you’ll see that you had the same floods fifty years ago, a hundred years ago. However, they didn’t cause as much damage because people were not living so close to the water.

And by the way, there’s another thing that people are not talking much about. Notice how the media and the emergency management officials have cried wolf so often because they were promoting this climate crisis. They would issue these big warnings, and your cell phone goes off for very, very minor storms. We saw this in 2011 when Christie evacuated all of Cape May County for Tropical Storm Irene. Remember, it was just a minor storm far off the coast, but they forced everybody to evacuate. They forced the Clam Bar in Somers Point and all these good restaurants to lose all that money on food by closing for Labor Day Weekend.

And what happens is if you give warning after warning after warning for minor storms and nothing happens, when there’s a real life threatening event, people just don’t listen.

And I think that was a factor in people not taking some of these warnings seriously in Texas and New Mexico.

JOHN DEMASI: Oh, boy. Here we go again.

SETH GROSSMAN: But meanwhile, but it’s going to be interesting. So with Democrats and Republicans, it’s almost like we’re living in two different worlds.

REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS LIVING IN TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS.

If you talk to any Republican, It’s Jack Ciatarelli is doing great. Trump’s doing great. Trump is doing everything we elected him to do, and everything is great.  Your talk to Democrats, it‘s “We’re ready to take back the country”. It’s not just CNN. You’ll notice that on Thursday, we had a 150, Democrats, protesting in Ocean City by the Ninth Street Bridge. And basically, every two weeks or every three weeks, the Democrats have turned out anywhere from 400 to 600 people he, to 200 to 300 people there at all these, protests against Republicans.

Last March, Democrats had 600 people protesting at Van Drew’s office on Tilton Road in Northfield. They had 600 protestors at Van Drew’s fundraiser in Smithville. They had n March at Van Drew’s office, they had 600 people on Tilton Road and his fundraiser in Smithville they had 400 protesters at the June 14 “No Kings Day” protest on the Ocean City Bridge.

So, the Democrats are all fired up. They’re saying, “Tthe people are turning against the Republicans. We’re going to win in New Jersey, in November. Then, we’re going to win back Congress next year”.

But one thing is interesting. They’re all Boomers.  I noticed that in all those crowds of people, I didn’t see one black person in any of those rallies for the last five months. And it looks like the average age, they’re all boomers. I didn’t see any young people at these events. So, it could very well be that this is not a trend, that this is just, you know, the same people who were already against Trump and Republicans just making more noise.  I just don’t know. My guess is as good as anyone else’s.

JOHN DEMASI: Yes. That’s boy, I’d tell you, The Boomers. Yeah, You’re right.

NJ GAS TAX AND US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE PAY FOR $2.3 MILLION PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY IN WILDWOOD.

SETH GROSSMAN:  Well, like I often do, the story that interested me most this week is a story that probably no one paid any attention to. Last Thursday, Wildwood got a $2.3 million grant to build a pedestrian walkway from the Boardwalk to Pacific Avenue. And it was buried in the back of the paper. But that story really gets to the heart of what we talked about last week. About how we no longer have government by consent, in America. This is a typical example.

When America was great, how would something like this be handled? The people in Wildwood would say, gee, you know, we really need to bring traffic from the Boardwalk to restaurants downtown by Pacific Avenue. So let’s all get together and pay for a walkway to go from the Boardwalk to Pacific Avenue. It’s going to cost $2,300,000. So we have, 3,858 taxable properties in Wildwood. The average person in Wildwood pays $6,500 in taxes. So this is going to cost us $600 per taxpayer. So if the people in Wildwood want to build this thing, you know, they know they’re going to pay for with a $600 increase in their taxes.

They can decide whether to pay $500 in one year, or borrow money and space it out over 10 years like an added assessment to a condominium.

But that’s not how we do things New Jersey anymore. Who’s paying the $2,300,000?  It’s being paid by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. That means that walkway is being paid by Parkway and Expressway tolls, the gasoline tax, the tire tax and the wholesale gasoline tax on refiners. And thanks to Chris Christie and the Democrats, we get automatic toll and gas tax hikes every year. They say this is so a Transportation Trust Fund can borrow money to give us safe highways. So if we don’t have these automatic tax hikes, you know, our roads and bridges will collapse.

And now you see it’s it was all a fraud, all fake. Most of the money is going to stuff that has nothing to do with highways just like this. So meanwhile, we’re paying higher taxes every year, but most of Route 40 is still a two lane death trap. Route 347, you know, where Route 55 ends is still a death trap. They never finished Route 55. But, that money without anybody’s consent, without anybody’s knowledge, is going for something that has nothing to do with highways. So I thought that that’s typical of what’s going on. It’s a shame, we don’t have an Elon Musk to sort of stop stuff like that.

JOHN DEMASI: Yeah. How how do we stop that?

SETH GROSSMAN: Well, I mean, I I’m encouraged. The reason I like and supported Jack Ciattarelli from the from the beginning is, you know, we have so many lawyers in politics. He’s, to to best my knowledge, the only accountant who I know in politics. And he knows how to how to spot stuff like this. And I really, have a lot of faith in him.

JOHN DEMASI: I hope I hope he’s going to make it. Oh, by the way, that with this Wildwood thing, there’s one other thing. In addition to the $2,300,000 for this project, Wildwood also got a grant of $66,000 from The United States, Department of Agriculture. So why would the Department of Agriculture pay money for a, like a a pedestrian walk in Wildwood? Well, it comes under the Rural Development Grant Program!  Rural Development Grant Program in the middle of Wildwood? So, in case you didn’t notice that Wildwood qualifies for rural development, now you know! The City of Wildwood qualifies for federal rural development funds.

That is sort of what happened when the federal government was about to pay money for the Margate Elephant. So, you know, I I’m hoping that that Elon Musk, now that he sees the Republicans, finally clawed back that $9 billion of waste he found with DOGE, and permanently took away that money for AID and and NPR, that, may maybe, he’ll come back with with Trump and stop this stuff. Because he only scratched the surface.

JOHN DEMASI: I’d love to see him, spend another six months. I’m sure he’d find a whole lot of more stuff. Yeah. Don’t they grow a lot of stuff in Wildwood? Yeah. Well, check out the agriculture there. al, you know, employees there, supervising the construction. Anyway. I think they grow a lot of fudge in Wildwood. Don’t they?

NJ PENSIONS WERE ALREADY INSOLVENT BEFORE REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS CHRISTIE TODD WHITMAN AND CHRIS CHRISTIE MADE THEM WORSE.

SETH GROSSMAN: Just one more point I’d like to talk about. Harry Hurley, interviews George Tibbitt, Atlantic City Councilman, on Fridays. And they got to the same conversation we had last week about why our young people are turning to people who hate America like AOC and that Zoran Mamdani in New York. And a big problem is that a lot of our young people are disgusted with their future in America. They just want to burn everything down. And in a way, George Tibbett was talking about this.

That is part of another big problem. Hardly anybody in politics talks about the most important issues that affect us the most. Because if you do, it ruins your political career. Like I if I would ever run for public office now, I   wouldn’t have a chance. All my opponents have to do is record six sessions of me speaking to John Demasi on this program. That would be the end of my career.  That is because most voter just don’t want to handle these issues.

And George was talking about two of those issues. The insolvent pensions and the outrageous cost of health insurance. George was talking about the Police and Firemens’ pensions and health insurance. First with the health insurance. They’re taking  $7,000 to $8,000 is taken out of their pay for health insurance now. And we all know now that the high cost of health insurance is really a hidden Obama tax to pay for illegal immigrants.

Then George talked about what a disaster the New Jersey pension plan is. And I just want to correct the record on one thing. You know, the popular myth is that the New Jersey pensions were hunky dory, and that everything was wonderful until, Christy Todd Whitman came along in the 1990s and took the pension funds and gambled them in the stock market. And then Chris Christie came along, and he stopped making pension contributions. And then he suddenly gave all the pension investment money to his Wall Street friends who lost the money on these junk bonds and you know horrible investments. And that’s all true. And it was despicable.

But the reason that Christie Todd Whitman and Christie were doing that was because the pension funds were already in trouble. Whitman and Christie were both chasing, trying to get an 8% return on the pension funds when the real market was only offering 3%,. The pension funds were in trouble long before that. And the whole problem with the New Jersey pension funds is when you and I retire, we put our money into private or private 401K or IRA. And when we’re just starting out, we’re not making much money. So we only put a little money in at the beginning and then when we’re making more money, we put more money in. But when we retire, what we get at the end is based on the puny contributions we made at the beginning as well as the big contributions we made at the end. Well for years and years, New Jersey pensions were not based on what you put into the system. It was based on your highest salary when you got out. And all sorts of gimmicks were used to juice up your salary before you got out. People would be, get big pay hikes just before they retired. They get multiple jobs just before they retired. They’d be made police chiefs, just before they retired. So if we’re going to fix the pension system, we have to be honest and talk about the problems we had before Whitman and Chris Christie screwed up the pension system even more.
