SETH GROSSMAN: Good morning. and there’s a lot of new stuff posted at libertyandprosperity.com. I hope you will not only read those posts. If you like them, I hope you share them on Facebook, X and your other social media. They have really important information. We need a lot more people to know it.
The most important issue right now is the election in November. Early voting starts in a month. We have to stop doing and saying stuff that makes us feel good. We need to start doing stuff that helps Jack Ciattarelli win the election.
If Mikey Sherrill wins the election and is Governor for the next four years, it will be very bad for everyone in New Jersey. It will also be very bad for Trump. It will be national news. The media will say this is proof that Trump overplayed his hand. Trump is out of touch. Trump is on his way out. That Trump is going to sink the Republican majority in Congress.
We need to put the focus on this November’s election. There are only two big elections in the country this year. New Jersey and Virginia. What happens here will affect the whole country.
So when you want to say, let’s teach those liberals a lesson for cheering the murder of Charlie Kirk, we need to be very careful. We need to make sure that they are losing their jobs because taxpayers don’t want people like that running their schools and libraries. We have to make it clear that they are not getting fired because Trump is using the power of the government to punish his political enemies.
And this isn’t easy. Trump has that ego. Trump wants to take credit for this stuff. Trump wants to say, “Yeah, I want to get those guys thrown out of late-night TV. Trump wants to be the big bully. And it just plays into the hands of the Democrats who are trying to get the voters we need.
So here’s how I think we should handle this. When people say, “How dare Trump use his power to get Jimmy Kimmel fired?”, We should NOT gloat. We should NOT say, “It’s a good start! Let’s get rid of all those woke comics on TV!”
Above Video: Jay Leno Was Cancelled In 2014 For Making Jokes About Obama. Tim Allen of Home Improvement Was Cancelled For Years For Being A Conservative.
I think we should say something like, “I think it’s awful to punish entertainers for their politics. It was awful when Democrats kicked Jay Leno off the Tonight Show. It was awful when they cancelled Home Improvement on TV because Tim Allen was a conservative”.
And of course, your liberal friends have no idea that conservatives have been cancelled because of their politics for years. This is a perfect way to bring this into the conversation.
Remember that ack to Jay Leno. Jay Leno was basically forced into early retirement, because he made jokes that embarrassed, Obama. When he was forced to retire, Jay Leno was healthy and in his prime. He had great ratings. Great advertisers. But they had to teach him a message. You can make fun of anybody you want to, but not Obama or any Democrat. And Tim Allen with Home Improvement was also forced out of TV at the height of his popularity. All because he was a conservative who made leftists look like idiots.
So in my opinion, jumping on the bandwagon and saying, “Yeah, let’s bully those Democrats. Let’s teach them a lesson” just gives Democrats a club to whack us with. Mike Sherrill is already saying, “I’m defending the First Amendment. I believe in free speech. I think we all have the right to to express our views, and this is horrible”. Why should be play into their hands and make us the bullies and them the innocent victims.
But when you remind people of what Democrats did to people like Jay Leno and Tim Allen, you put things into perspective.
And the second thing is, and I talked about this a couple of weeks ago, the key group of voters who are against Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican and for Mikie Sherrill, the Democrat, are women and people under the age of 30. Everyone listening to us now knows a voter in that that category.
It’s also important to remember when they say Mikie Sherrill is up, two points in the polls or four points or six points in the polls, it is easy to change that. Every Democrat you flip to vote for Jack is getting Jack two votes. That’s because your getting one vote for Jack and Mikie Sherrill loses a vote. So Jack picks up two votes.
The best way to help Jack Ciattarelli win during the next month is to spend your time reaching voters who are now leaning the other way. Of course, we also have to make sure that all the people who lean our way show up to vote. We have to get them registered. We have about two or three more weeks to get people registered to vote. And then you have to get people to vote by mail, get them to vote early, do all that stuff. Try to get 100% of our vote out. Because even if we have the support of most people, if 100% of their people vote and only 80% of our people vote, we’re going to lose another winnable election.
So we have to think like Steven Covey, the guy who wrote the book Seven Habits of Highly Successful People. We have to start the beginning with the end in mind. And the end we need to have in mind is the November election season one month away.
JOHN DEMASI: How do we how do we do that though? What are your suggestions? Well, here are a couple of things.
SETH GROSSMAN: First, start with the obvious lies. Bring it up. You’ve all seen the TV ads. Jack Ciattarelli “is open to” a 10% sales tax in New Jersey that would include all food and clothing. That is such a big lie. We need to make that absolutely clear. Yes, last June 4, Jack Ciattarelli was at a town hall meeting at Hasbrooke Heights. And somebody asked him a question. “Why do we have an income tax? Why can’t we be like other states that don’t have an income tax?” And of course, Jack Ciattarelli is an accountant. He gives a straight answer. He says, “Well, you have states like Tennessee that don’t have an income tax, but they have a high sales tax. In fact, Tennessee has a 10% sales tax on, on everything, including clothing and food”. And that’s all he said!
So Mikie Sherrill is using that answer to that question to run TV ads saying Ciattarelli is for a 10% sales tax in New Jersey that includes food and clothing. That is not a mistake. That is not taking Jack’s remarks out of context. That TV ad by Democrats is a flat out lie!
And they pretend to document the lie by saying Jack Ciattarelli said that last June. So that’s where to start. Show what an absolute liar Mike Sherrill is. You say that if Mike Sherrill is willing to base her whole campaign on such an obvious lie, she is someone who would lie about everything.
But an even more offensive are the lies Mikie Sherrill said about Charlie Kirk. And this is something you should definitely
But what I find even more offensive, and this is something to bring up to members of your family leaning towards Democrats, are the lies Mikie Sherrill told about Charlie Kirk.
***
Above Image: Official Statement Made By Mikie Sherrill about Charlie Kirk on September 19, 2025.
She said that that Charlie Kirk’s views were “vile” and that he “advocated for a Christian nationalist government” that would “roll back the rights of women and Black people. She said that Charlie Kirk had “racist, anti-American views’.
Above Video: Here’s What Charlie Kirk Actually Said. Democrat Candidate For NJ Governor Mike Sherril called this “vile”, “racist”, “anti-American”, and calling for a “Christian nationalist government”.
Now, this is another absolute lie. If you look countless videos of what Charlie Kirk said and did, you know that those words do not describe Charlie Kirk at all. Charlie Kirk would go into college campuses, and he would take on these, issues.
He’d say things like, “Your college education is a waste of money. Prove me wrong. They’re indoctrinating you. They’re not teaching you anything that is useful or making you smarter. Prove me wrong”. And Charlie Kirk would invite students and professors to come up to the microphone and invite them to speak. And students would say things like “I’m an economics major, and I got a good education”. And Charlie Kirk, who did not go to colleges, talked in detail about all of these subjects. And he proved that students were only taught a small fraction of every subject to indoctrinate students rather than educate them.
Or if Charlie Kirk would say people should be hired and promoted based on their skill and achievement. And the media would say that Charlie Kirk was “far-right” or a “racist”. I that racist? Of course not! It’s common sense and required by law.
And Charlie Kirk never said anything about gays or transgenders unless he was asked by people who wanted to put him in a difficult spot. And Charlie Kirk would say he personally did not believe in that lifestyle. And Charlie Kirk would say he didn’t believe that you could turn a man into a woman by castrating a guy or giving him hormones. But he wasn’t attacking anybody. He wasn’t denying anybody the right to do what they wanted. Charlie Kirk was giving his honest personal opinion. And that is what America is all about.
If someone would say, Israel is a racist colonial state. Charlie Kirk would explain why it was not. He would point out how Jews bought swamp and desert that nobody wanted and then they built it up through years of hard work. And then Arabs would say, we want it now. Charlie Kirk said stuff like that.
So, Mikie Sherrill is now completely lying about what Charlie Kirk said and what he stood for. It’s despicable. Here’s how handle Mikie Sherrill. Get people you know who are leaning Democrat to watch a couple of the Charlie Kirk videos where you actually see what the man is saying.
Or maybe there’s another explanation. Maybe Mikie Sherrill never heard of Charlie Kirk, never met him, never saw any of the videos. Maybe she just has no idea what she’s talking about. Maybe she’s just reading the same script that the same radical leftists running the Democratic Party are giving to Mamdani in New York.
And by the way, these Democrats throw these terms around, like “Christian nationalist government”. They want people to think “Christian nationalist. That means the Baptist Church will be running the White House!”
No. That’s not it. When Democrats say “Christian nationalist government”, they are attacking the America that you and I and every Boomer grew up in during the 1950s and 1960s.
Think of what we were taught in school back then. Basic Judeo-Christian common sense American values. “Love your neighbor as yourself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. “Follow the Ten Commandments. Do the right thing because it’s the right thing and not because the law will punish you if you don’t do the right thing”.
These are basic moral values. Ten Commandments: Don’t steal, Don’t lie. Don’t kill. Don’t be jealous of what other people have. If there’s something that somebody else has that you want, work harder for it, save, get married, have a partner.
The Democrats put this label of “Christian nationalist” to make you think this is bad. But it’s good. We used to call this the American Way or the American Dream, because America was a very special and exeptional nation. We had an exceptional nationalism. That American Dream was based on those Jewish and Christian values.
Now many Americans are very naive. And Democrats fooled a lot of young people into thinking that everybody shares these values. But they don’t. In most of the world and most of human history, most people believe that you are supposed to lie, cheat, steal, bully, and even kill if you can get away with it to get what you want for you and your family. These people believe this how you are supposed to live.
Only in America. Only in a very few civilized countries do we have these Judeo-Christian Bible values. This “Love your neighbor as yourself”., Follow Ten Commandments. “Do unto others what you don’t want them to do to you”. All that basic stuff.
That’s what Charlie Kirk talked about when he went on those college campuses. And you can see that when you look at those videos. The kids and the professors would try to put these labels on Charlie Kirk and he would just brush them off. He would just explain these things the way I did just now. He’d win people over. And that’s why Democrats hated him so much.
JOHN DEMASI: Yeah. You really explained it there.
SETH GROSSMAN: But going back to the beginning. How can we help Jack Ciattarelli win this election. How do we deal with this. It will take some discipline. And we talked about this at the Liberty and Prosperity breakfast.
What happens when you talk to a friend or someone in your family who is leaning towards the Democrats. What happens when you ask them to vote for Jack Ciattarelli? What’s the first thing they say? They say, “But Ciattarelli’s with Trump!” “You’re not for Trump, are you?” How do you respond to this?
This is when you have to make a choice. You can either defend Trump and lose a vote for Jack Ciattarelli. Or you can back away from Trump and win a vote for Jack.
Here’s what I’ve been doing. You may like it or not like it, but let me put it out there.
You know there are people in your family, people you talk to every day who absolutely hate Trump. And you know that if you defend Trump, they will shut you off and never listen to anything say about politics again. What do you do?
Here’s what I do. I break the ice by saying, “Yes, Trump has his shtick!” I hate when Trump does crazy stuff like those rants like Canada being the 51st State, or saying the Gulf of America instead of the Gulf of Mexico. Or everything always being about him. Trump can really be obnoxious”. Yes, that’s what I say, and it breaks the ice”.
But then I say, put up with that stuff because Trump is doing a better job on crime and illegal immigrants than any Democrat ever did.
And then I pivot to Jack Ciattarelli. I say the reason I like Jack Ciattarelli is he is doing all the good things that Trump does, but without that obnoxious personality.
I know this may offend many Trump supporters. But if you support Trump, you know that if Jack Ciattarelli wins in New Jersey, it will be a big win for Trump. And if Ciattarelli loses, it will be a big defeat for Trump, no matter how much Trump would deny it. So if you agree that helping Ciattarelli is helping Trump, you would want to do everything you can to help elect Jack Ciattarelli.
I know that a lot of Trump supporters may disagree with this approach. But to me, winning the election for Jack Ciattarelli is a lot more important right now than saying nice things about Trump to people who hate Trump. If you support Trump, think it through. The best way to help Trump right is to get Jack Ciattarelli elected. If we have the discipline to do that, I think we’ll be in a better place. I think it’s doable. So, we’ll see what the other members have to say.
The key is that you know the people in your family better than I do. You know what they think about Trump. You know better than me what will persuade them and what will turn them off.
But before you talk politics with them, think ahead of time how you can get them to vote for Jack Ciattarelli. You can say all these great things about Jack. And there are many great things about Jack. But you know that at some point, they will say, “But Jack’s with Trump, isn’t he?” Are you prepared with a good answer? All I am saying is that you should be.
How do I respond when I people tell me, “Well, Jack’s with Trump, isn’t he? And I’ll I’ll actually come out and say, “No! Jack’s for New Jersey and common sense”. “Jack is doing the good things that Trump that everyone likes, but without the insults and ego. We need Jack Ciattarelli does the good things that that Trump does without the needless drama that Trump does to annoy people.
I think you need to make that that leap. Because if you don’t make that leap, you will lose those voters. And Jack Ciatterelli needs those voters. Always remember that every Democrat voter, you win over for Jack Ciattarelli, changes the polls by two votes, not one. And as long as you know that what the prize is, you’ll keep your eyes on that prize. That’s my personal view, and I think most folks at the Liberty and Prosperity breakfasts see it the same wauy.
JOHN DEMASI: Yeah. And you know what else? Mikey Sherrill says she’ll stand up to Donald Trump. What does what does the governor of New Jersey have to do with Donald Trump? I mean, I don’t understand it.
SETH GROSSMAN: You know what she means by that? She means that if Donald Trump wants to keep deporting illegal immigrants, then she’s going to use all the power of the state government to stop him. She will put every possible legal roadblock in his way to stop the process.
And yes, there are hardship situations with some illegal immigrants. That’s what happen when you don’t enforce laws that need to be enforced. And you don’t enforce them for fifteen years. You’re going to have occasional situations of hardships. But I guarantee you that within about six months to a year, they’ll all be worked out. The easy cases will get deported, the hard cases will get their due process, and some adjustments will be made.
But what what Mikie Sherrill is saying is we don’t want any immigration enforcement! We want to be sure that if Americans get tired of voting for Democrats, we can import as many third world, dependent voters as we need to make sure that a majority of people vote Democrat forever. That what Mikie Sherrill means and you’ve to take her seriously.
JOHN DEMASI: Okay. Well, thanks for explaining that too.
SETH GROSSMAN: Meanwhile, on some local issues, I can’t, leave Ocean City and the idiots in Ocean City who killed that hotel that Eustace Mita wanted to build at 6th and theBoardwalk. That proposed hotel was the perfect resort commercial use to replace the resort commercial use of the Wonderland Amusement Park that went broke there. And it may turn out that the people of Ocean City may get what they deserve. OK, if you don’t want a first-class hotel at that site, you may have some George Norcross group put low-income housing there! Because with all these subsidies, you can often make more money building low income or so-called affordable housing. And because of the so-called housing emergency, you can always get permits and variances to build low income and so-called affordable housing.
And that takes us to why we have a housing crisis in New Jersey in the first place. Nobody can afford houses. Young families can’t afford houses. Young people can’t afford to get married and have children. And why is housing so expensive? Because everything in New Jersey is so expensive to build. And that is because we have these zoning laws that make it illegal to build anything that anybody wants anywhere in New Jersey. So to build anything that anyone wants anywhere in New Jersey, a builder has to get some exception to the law, either a variance or a redevelopment plan. And to get those, you need favors from politicians. That means you have to pay off politicians one way or another. You need to hire the politically connected lawyers and consultants. You need to buy tickets and be a sponsor for all these expensive political fundraisers. You have to pander to every so-called community leader and political wannabee in town. And somebody has to pay for all that, and that somebody is you. You have to pay $300,000 for a house that costs $150,000. The other $150,000 you pay is the costs of the political garbage– the politics, the public relations, the lawyers, the planners, the consultants, the political dinners, putting relatives of politicians on your payroll or hiring their overpriced companies to do work for you.
This stuff happens for all new buildings in New Jersey. Not just Mita’s hotel in Ocean City. All of these zoning laws apply to housing. If you go into any town, you will find that 80% of the houses in every town are in violation of something. The backyard’s not long enough. The side yard’s not wide enough.
If you want to live in a neighborhood where you can control everything your neighbor does, you don’t need zoning laws. Buy a house in a planned community like Smithville. Go into a place run by a community association with all sorts of restrictions in your deed. Go to a place where you can give your neighbor a $500 fine if he paints his door a color you don’t like, or if he puts in shutters you don’t like. Go to a community with an association that has 30 pages of rules and regulations telling you what you can and can’t do!
There are many, many condominiums and planned unit developments like this you can move to. We don’t need zoning laws to control every building and every piece of land in every town.
These zoning laws do no9thing but smother progress and make housing and everything else unaffordable for almost everybody. All because most people in New Jersey think they have the right to tell someone else what to do with their property. . .
