SETH GROSSMAN: Every article we post on this site is based on discussions we have every Saturday in Somers Point, New Jersey and on with John DeMasi on his program Talk With A Purpose on wpgtalkradio.com, 95.5FM and 1450AM near Atlantic City.  If you like what you read, please share it with your friends on Facebook or X.  If you use another kind of social media, just go to the X icon on the article and copy it and paste the link into whatever email or social media you use. This is the only way we can deliver our message.
We often talk about issues months before they become mainstream news. We don’t claim to be especially smart or have inside information, but as Benjamin Franklin observed three hundred years ago, just ordinary Americans having honest conversations with each other and sharing information will be better informed than highly paid experts who can’t say what’s on their mind. That’s because these so-called experts have to follow an agenda to keep their paychecks So you’re more likely to get the truth from ordinary people having ordinary open discussions than from the so-called experts in these government agencies and TV news networks.
JOHN DEMASI: I consider you an expert.
SETH GROSSMAN: Yes, people ask me how I know all this stuff. The answer is very simple. I read books besides watching TV and listening to the radio and I talk to people about the books I read, and I talk to other people who also read books. That’s how you get smart. A lot of very informed people like Charlie Kirk, one of the best debaters America ever had, was self-taught.  That’s what he did. Charlie Kirk didn’t spend four years in college. However, he got smart by reading a log of books and having open conversations with other people who read different books. And in a way, that’s what Bible study was all about. That’s why Americans had so much common sense even in the early days when families only had the Bible and one or two other books in the house.
SETH GROSSMAN:  The turmoil you are talking about is horrible. This week, we are faced with the horrible murder of two 17-year-old girls in Cranston, New Jersey by a 17-year-old boy. The boy had been rejected by one of the girls and he stalked her for three months.  The girl’s family did everything they did to stop him. They called the police. They filed complaints n court. They tried to get restraining orders. They were all dismissed. It turns out that the boy’s father was a cop and his uncle was a police chief. Last Monday, that girl and one of her friends were riding bikes in their suburban neighborhood Cranford and that 17-year-old boy driving his family’s jeep, ran them both over and killed them. Then he posted a video of himself on social media. This is what’s going on. You know, we need the death penalty back in New Jersey.
We need to bring back the idea of holding people are responsible for what they do. When you don’t, this awful stuff become normal.
It is becoming normal because we’re coming up with all these excuses not to hold people accountable. This has got to change. This is not easy. You often have to make yourself unpopular. You have to speak out against people in your neighborhood. Sometimes you have to talk about, people, who have influence in the community. These murders were not based on race. They were not based on politics or ideology.
You just have these kids growing up with no sense of reality or responsibility. Many spend hours playing video games where they kill somebody on a on a TV screen and they think it’s cool. They think everything is a game where you do things and then hit a re-set button. They have no empathy, no understanding of the wants, needs and feelings of other people who are affected by what they do. So this is just another wake up call. Another day in New Jersey. In a good neighborhood in a safe town. You can’t run away from this stuff.
And when you give kids the idea that the most important thing in life is for you to feel good about yourself, and the hell with everybody else, this is what we end up with.  This is simply not being taught in many homes. It is not being taught in our schools.
There is public school story coming out of the suburban town of Roxbury in North Jersey.  There were two women on the school board. And they were complaining about the pornographic books, in the school library of their kids’ elementary school. They were put there by the  woke school librarian. By the way, most school librarians are woke because to be qualified to be a librarian, you have to be accredited by the American Library Association. That is a totally leftist organization run by some very sick and hateful people. They are use school libraries to promote very sick and hateful agendas.  And if you question some of the books the put in the libraries, they falsely accuse you of censorship.  But they are the censors. They are the ones who pulled Mark Twain and Huckleberry Finn out of our libraries. They cancelled Frederick Douglass, one of America’s greatest civil rights leaders because he was a Republican. They took out the biographies of all of these rags to riches, successful white men like Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie and Thomas Edison.  They banned all of these books.  You won’t find them in a single school library.
But if you would say, well, you know, we think that these are trying to groom, you know, 10 year old, 11 year old, and 12 year olds into a sick and deviant lifestyle. If you say its not normal for a boy to take drugs and mutilate himself to pretend to be a girl or for a girl to do that to be a boy, they say we are hateful and intolerant and that school nurses, teachers and counselors have no right to know what is going on.
And that is what caused this lawsuit. When these two moms on the Roxbury school board said exactly what we are talking about right now, the school librarian sued them for libel and slander. These women had to hire lawyers and get tied up in court for two and a half years. This week, the judge finally dismissed the case. The judge said it was obvious that these women were giving opinions on a public issue that are protected by the First Amendment of our Constitution.
But, just as a lawyer, it’s very important, to understand how the legal system often gets misused like this. People with money and power often sue people for libel in bad faith to shut up critics and shut down debate and opposition. These lawsuits are called “SLAPP”s. That stands for Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation. These lawsuits usually get dismissed eventually, but they can cost you a lot of money and mess up your life for months if not years.
Before you criticize a woke politician or government employee on Facebook or X or at a public meeting, or on a talk radio program like this, choose your words carefully.  You may think the person is selling out the community, or lying, cheating or stealing, but saying those things can get you sued if you don’t have documented proof. That doesn’t mean you have to keep quiet. It just means you have to make it clear that you are giving your personal opinion, and not stating something as a fact.
You can’t be sued for giving your personal opinion. However, you can be sued for stating things as facts that you cannot prove. So be very careful to say, in my opinion, I think they are doing this. This is just some practical legal advice. Remember that even though these two women got that libel lawsuit againsy them dismissed, they still had to spend money on lawyers and go to all these depositions and court proceedings for two and a half years.
JOHN DEMASI:  legal advice from Seth Grossman. I I love it. You know?
SETH GROSSMAN: Even though I’m retired, I still give advice like this from time to time.
SETH GROSSMAN: Meanwhile, I was at my synagogue for the Yom Kippur holiday. Somebody there told me that somebody had told them that they were at a Liberty and Prosperity breakfast last Saturday in Somers Point. And that person said they were offended that too many people were talking about religion.
I have two problems with that. First, we were talking about Christianity because we were talking about themurder of Charlie Kirk, and remarks that were made at the memorial service for him two weeks ago. Now a lot of Americans, especially many American Jews are completely clueless as to why we enjoy so many freedoms here in America. They assume that we all have these rights to say what we want do what we want and go where we want and be free and safe to do this as if all of this happens by itself.
And it’s true. We’ve enjoyed these freedoms in America for three hundred years. But we forget that this is very rare in most of the world and most of human history. In most of the world, and throughout most of human history, if you got on the wrong side of certain people, they could beat you up, rob you of everything you own and kill you any time. You had no rights. And you would have to be very careful to flatter them and be nice to them all the time. You had no rights.
America was different. It was a very special place. And the only reasons America was so special is that this country was settled by people who believed in basic Judeo Christian bible values of your neighbor as yourself, the 10 commandments, and so on. Here in South Jersey, we were settled by Quakers like William Penn and John Somers and families like the Risleys, and the Smiths and the Leeds and the Conovers. They produced this very free, and safe and tolerant society based on those basic Bible values.
But if you trash those values and the people who believe them and defend them, and teach those values to their children, we will lose all that in a heartbeat.
Yet too many people, especially many American Jews just don’t get that. They think they can do or say whatever they want and that their rights will be protected by the Constitution. Well in third-world countries like Haiti, they have an expression that goes “Constitutions are made of paper, but bayonets are made of steel.  The Constitution only works when most people in the country understand, defend and protect that Constitution and the Judeo-Christian values it is based on.
If  we have a country of people who think they can do or say whatever they want, when they want, and hurt, rob or kill people if they think they can get away with it and not get caught, the Constitution and all the laws we have won’t do us a bit of good. All of those third-world countries that people are running away from all have great constitutions. But those constitutions don’t do those people any good.
All of the people who created our country said that. George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson all said that. Some of them were religious, some of them were not religious, but they all agreed that if you don’t have a moral society that does the right thing because it’s the right thing and not because they’re afraid of getting caught, then we cannot live in a free society. The Constitution can’t work  They all said that only a moral people can enjoy freedom. The Constitution only works when most people do the right thing because they want to–not because they will get caught and punished for doing the wrong thing.
Second, I was disappointed that this unhappy person said nothing about this at the meeting. He instead left the meeting and complained to his friends.  That defeats the whole purpose of having these breakfast discussions every Saturday in Somers Point.  The whole idea is to have open discussions. We welcome people who openly tell us when they think we are wrong, and who have open discussions about it in good faith. Very often, we hear new facts and arguments for the first time and change our original opinions. Very often, we give better information to the person who disagrees with us and that person changes his or her opinion.
Now let’s go back to what you said about Larry Krasner, the District Attorney in Philadelphia who is running for re-election. You said he called President Trump a “Nazi”.
That’s another big problem that has going on, especially in the Jewish community. For years, we were sold this absolutely fake idea that there is something called a “left-right continuum.  We are told that communists and socialists are on the extreme left and that Nazis and fascists are on the extreme right. That all left-right model is completely fake. It was invented by Communists and socialists after World War II.
A lot of people forget that World War II did not start when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. World War 2 started when the Communists, the socialists of Russia under Stalin made an alliance with the Nazis, the National Socialists of Germany. This was no accident. Communist socialists and the Nazi national socialists had a whole lot in common.
They all pretended to be for equality. However, both of them were really based on dividing people.
The Communists socialists under Stalin in Russia divided society into rich capitalists and landowners who had too much, and poor factory and farm workers who had too little. Stalin’s idea was to kill the capitalists and landowners, steal their stuff, and give that stuff to the poor factory and farm workers.
Nazi is short for the German words for national socialist. Hitler took that same basic idea, and changed just a little bit. Hitler said, we don’t have to kill all the capitalists and landowners and take all of their stuff.  Hitler said that would be too messy and cause too many problems like what the Communists had in Russia.  Hitler said, just kill the Jews and take their stuff.
So you see, all socialists, whether Communists or Nazis have the same basic idea. You divide countries into two basic groups. One group is said to be privileged and has too much stuff.  Others are victims and have to little. All socialists teach people to hate the privileged class that has too much stuff. Then the government kills them, or drives them out of the country and steals their stuff.
After World War II, the Communists socialists were embarrassed by Stalin and Hitler becoming allies to destroy England and France.  So after the war, they started teaching this left-right garbage where they claimed that Communists and socialists were the opposite of Fascists and Nazis. The truth is that they are all different families of the same mafia. They are all the same.  They all believe in blaming one small group for all the problems in the country. They all believe in a big powerful government that uses its powers to take from one group and give to another.
There only difference is in quibbling over how to define the different groups and what labels to use.
And because we got into this left right thing, you you have all these people justifying what we call the Antifa. They call themselves socialists and anti-fascists.  They go around causing riots, looting stores and beating up and even killing people. The 360 Section of yesterday’s Press of Atlantic City quoted an Antifa spokesman as saying this was OK because they only do it to “fascists”.
However, Antifa does this to anyone who disagrees with them.  This is exactly what the Communists did when they used this kind of violence to take over countries. They are not opposites. They are exactly the same. That whole lef-right chart showing them as opposites is pure garbage
Of course, the real opposite of  Communists, socialists, nazis, fascists, and “National Socialists” is the American constitutional way. That is a government and a society that recognized individuals with individual rights, and not groups. Our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution both say that each individual has certain “unalienable rights” and that “governments are instituted” to secure those rights.
The American Way is where each individual has the right to work as hard or as little as he or she wants, and where government protects the rights and property of each individual. The American Way lets people enjoy the benefits of their good choices and does not reward them or bail them out when they make bad choices.  For years, Americans who failed after making bad choices often got smarter and used their knowledge to succeed in future ventures.
We’ve got to get back to looking at each individual based on an individual. And, it took us really America three hundred years to build this system, but this system is being taken apart in just one generation. So, that’s the job as boomers. And by the way, that’s why both the radicals in both the left and the right are saying, well, we can’t wait till those boomers are dead so we could run the country our way.
And and that’s why I’m 76 now. I’m asking everybody in their sixties and seventies who remember what a great country we had. To take an interest in talking to your kids and and going to our website and sharing our information and and listening to programs like this. But not just listen to programs like this because your kids and your grandkids they’re not listening to these programs. They’re not going to liberty and prosperity. You have to be the one to talk to them once in a while and just mention what a great country we used to have and just suggest different ways that, that that maybe if we did those things again, we’d be better off. And and of course your kids, you know, say what what I you’re being a Nazi, you’re being a fascist. You’ll say no. I’m not a Nazi. I’m not. We we live that life and you could show pictures of the 50s and 60s and play the old 50s and 60s songs and actually make them watch one of the old movies. You know, that’s how we have to reach the people little by little. Because our schools and the Hollywood pop culture and the media doing everything they can to convince our kids that you and I, the boomers, grew up in this horrible, fascist, racist, evil, violent country when the the total opposite was true. That’s right. Anyway, I got my soapbox box, and it’s it’s time to get over to the meeting that starts at 09:30 at, in Somers Point at Grove Avenue and New Road. Thank you. Thanks, Seth.
