Last August 14, retired police chief Andreas Probst was riding his bicycle on a quiet street in his supposedly safe neighborhood in Las Vegas, Nevada. A 17 year old driving with his friends deliberately ran him down at high speed and killed him. As the driver approached the bicycle from behind and speeded up, one of the teens laughed and shouted, “Yeah, Hit his ass!” One of the passengers took a video of the incident. The video shows the teens laughing as the car struck Probst, and as his body smashed into the hood and windshield of the car. The teens then laughed as they sped away, leaving their victim to die along the side of the road.

The above local TV news broadcast was heavily edited and sanitized. It leaves out voices of the teens laughing at what they did, images identifying their race, of Probst’s body hitting the hood and smashing into the windshield. and of the teens speeding away as they leave Probst lying along the side of the road to die.
The 17 year old driver was later arrested. The others in the car are still at large. Most national media did not report this story. No media reported the race of the perpetrators.
