C.? How Yes vote on November Ballot Question to Amend?State Constitutional Amendment to require permanent hikes in minimum wage kills liberty, prosperity, and jobs.??? It would start with minimum wage of $8.65 per hour, which is really more than $12 per hour when you add cost of social security, medicare, unemployment, paid family leave, workers’ comp, mandatory ObamaCare, its.????Would you hire an inexperienced 16 year old kid to sweep the floor and help out for $16 an hour?? Or would you do the job yourself??? Or have an experienced worker do the job in 15 minutes?? Or hire a family member??? Or hire an illegal immigrant????? When voters figure out how bad this Constitutional Amendment is, it will be too late,? since only political insiders, not citizens have the?power to initiate changes to the NJ State Constitution.
D.?? Proposed?State Constitutional Amendment to spend $200 million per year on ?Open Space? for next 20 years may be dead.?? This may be a teachable moment on how Republicans are capable of doing good things when they want to.??? Democrat Senate President Steve Sweeney needed 24 votes in State Senate to put this second proposed Constitutional Amendment on the ballot.??? But Republican Governor Christie personally called every Republican State Senator and told each of them to vote “No” or face consequence.??? Sweeney is keeping the Voting? Board open until 5PM, but as of now, only 14 State Senators voted yes.?? Senator Kip Batemen was the only Republican to vote “Yes”.?? Hopefully, Bateman will have a serious challenger in his next primary election.
