Jesse Watters of Fox News sent his camera crew to our fundraiser in Somers Point last Saturday, February 17. They took a video of our speaker, Atlantic City’s Craig Callaway.
The next Monday night, Watters used part of that video to call Callaway a “ballot stuffer” on his national Primetime TV program. Watters the did a second segment with Newt Gingrich, the GOP Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. Gingrich said Callaway was an example of how Democrats cheat and steal elections.
Did Callaway do or say anything to justify what they said about him? We also took a video of Craig Callaway’s speech. Callaway told us that his key to success was creating long term, personal relationships with people who rarely vote.
Both segments of the Fox News program about Craig Callaway are posted above. Please compare them with the full 25 minute video of what Craig Callaway actually said.. Then let’s talk about them over breakfast. We’re at Sal’s Cafe on 501 New Road (Groveland Avenue) in Somers Point, New Jersey every Saturday morning at 9:30.
Above Video: Craig Callaway explains that his success in getting votes was built on years of building long term personal relationships with people who rarely vote or register to vote.
Callaway said he is one of 13 children. He said he gets all members of his large family and all of their friends, spouses, and children registered to vote as soon as they turn 18. He said he then spends weeks before Election Day getting as many of them as possible to vote by mail or messenger so they would not be too busy or distracted to vote on Election Day.
Callaway told of how he won the trust and support of immigrant business owners when he worked for years as a business license inspector for Atlantic City’s local government. Callaway said he helped immigrants succeed by treating them fairly and helping them comply with the law. He said they and their friends and families have supported Callaway with their votes ever since. Callaway said Republicans were losing close elections because they hired high-priced consultants instead of doing what he does. He said Republicans could get more votes and win close elections the same way.
Above Image: Three weeks ago, the Biden Justice Department charged Craig Callaway with improperly handling four messenger ballots during the November 2022 Election when he was hired by Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew. Callaway denies those charges.
