The criminal charges against Trump in New York are ridiculous. Democrats Jon Corzine and Phil Murphy gave big donations to politically connected churches and charities when they ran for office. They deducted those donations from their taxes as business expenses and charitable donations. Could they be charged with felonies if someone testified that they really gave those donations to win votes and political support? The Manhattan District attorney claims Trump committed felonies because payments that protected his business and reputation also helped in politically.
We all know the Stormy Daniels testimony had nothing to do with business records or bookkeeping. Democrats introduced salacious testimony to hurt Trump politically. This stuff backfired in the past. In 1884, Republicans accused Democrat Presidential candidate Grover Cleveland of paying the mother of his out-of-wedlock child to keep her quiet. Support of Republican candidate James G. Blaine taunted Cleveland with the chant, “Ma, Ma, Where’s my Pa”. However, Cleveland narrowly won that election. Democrats then taunted Republicans with the chant, “Hurrah for Maria, hurrah for the kid. I voted for Cleveland and I’m darn glad I did!”
In 1996, the Republican majority in the House of Representatives impeached President Bill Clinton for lying about his sexual relationships with Monica Lewinsky and other women. That only increased Clinton’s popularity and he was easily re-elected. Republicans should have impeached Clinton for giving the Communist regime in China our most advanced computer technology for its guided missiles after getting big, illegal campaign donations from Chinese monks.
Sex charges against Trump may backfire the same way.
Trump Rally in Wildwood. Normally, parking meters in Wildwood and other beach towns not activated until next weekend. However, Wildwood took special action to activate their parking meters today for the Trump rally. And they also raised beach block parking to $5 per hour. When private businesses gouge like that, they are punished by the State Division of Consumer Affairs. However, governments do this all the time.
This year’s Trump rally reminds us of January 2020 Trump rally there. Democrats and other leftists protested Trump and taunted his supporters. However, most Trump supporters responded by being respectful, articulate and cheerful. I hope that will be the same this afternoon.
