We sincerely apologize for having to take down the above video. We did not realize that Tucker Carlson had a contractual agreement with Fox News which did not permit videos of his remarks at this private event. To learn more about this event and the great work of the organization he addressed, please contact the James Madison Institute of Tallahassee, Florida at Home – James Madison Institute.
Tucker Carlson shares very personal thoughts at the 35th Anniversary Dinner of James Madison Institute at Ritz Tiburon in Naples, Florida. The decline of America reminds him the decline of so many wealthy families he grew up with in exclusive New England and La Jolla, California suburbs, vacation estates, and boarding schools in Switzerland. The Old Man got rich because he got married, had lots of kids and had to work hard, plan, think, save, and create to support them. His son didn’t work as hard, didn’t have as many kids, but was inspired enough by his dad to succeed. The grandkids lived off the Old Man’s wealth, got married, divorced, and had a few kids. However, they didn’t work very hard because they didn’t have to.
Today, the great grandkids are high on weed and dying of fentanyl overdoses. Tucker Carlson said he is happy that he married and has four children. However, he said he now regrets not having more. He also worries that he is not yet a grandfather.
Carlson described how we are part of nature and nature wants us to create starting with children. He said most women instinctively seem to know this and seem to have more of a sense of purpose. However, he said most men don’t do what they have to do until they have to do it. He was only half joking when he said there was something to be said for “shotgun weddings” in the past.
Ironically, Benjamin Franklin wrote something similar some 300 years ago. He wrote:
“A single man has not nearly the value he would have in a state of union. He is an incomplete animal. He resembles the odd half of a pair of scissors”. Benjamin Franklin
Carlson said the failure of too many young men want to achieve and excel today affects women and their desire to get married. It is a statistical fact that most women do not want to marry a many who earns less than they do.
Tucker Carlson explained the joy and relief of moving his family out of Washington, DC where he spent most of his life and moving to Florida.
Carlson also talked of a “Florida Renaissance” taking place with so many like-minded people moving here and living together. Tucker Carlson did not directly discuss the increased rivalry between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
However, Tucker Carlson did praise DeSantis for mastering the details of “the machinery of government”. Carlson said that if you want to change what government does, you need to understand how it works. Carlson said that when interviewing DeSantis in 2018 when he was just a candidate for Governor. DeSantis was familiar with many details of various departments of Florida state government and who was running them.
Tucker Carlson said that if you want someone to drive your car, it was important for that person to know how to operate that car. Carlson said he thought DeSantis would face less opposition than Trump if he ran for President. He said Establishment Democrats and Republicans usually agree more with Trump on policy than DeSantis. That is because DeSantis is consistently far more conservative. However, Carlson said Trump says and does what he wants, when he wants, and is far more unpredictable. He said the Establishment cares more about consistency and predictability than agreement on policies.
In conclusion Tucker gave some thoughts on the future of America. He said freedom loving states like Florida would prosper and succeed. He said Democrat run states like California and Illinois would fail. Carlson said those failures would be obvious when their banks and state government pension plans failed. Tucker Carlson said at some point, Democrats would try to use the power of the federal government to tax people in successful Republican states to bail out failures in states run by the Democratic Party. “Then there will be a major conflict, and we cannot predict how it will turn out”.
