Before I begin “This post represents the personal views of Ethel Hermenau. They have not been reviewed or approved by the organization and may or may not represent the views of most members of Liberty and Prosperity 1776, Inc.”
I understand that some of you are supporters of Bill Spadea and wish for me to join your group. Conversely, I have numerous friends who are advocates for Jack Ciattarelli and are encouraging my support for him.
As a pro-life and pro-family advocate, many are curious about my stance, and I can sincerely state that I have been entrusting my thoughts and prayers to God. While Jack may not be the most pro-life candidate, it is equally true that Bill’s convictions are also somewhat lacking. This is a reality for both candidates.
This statement is specifically directed towards Republican candidates; had I identified as a Democrat, my title would likely have indicated ‘Who is your they/them,’ which underscores my unwavering decision to refrain from voting for a Democrat throughout my lifetime.
I have experienced considerable uncertainty regarding Spadea. Recently, he posted content on his website featuring a baby and pro-life information, despite the absence of such an icon just over two weeks ago. Previously, his site displayed two individuals without any explanation of their significance (no idea what the icon was and thought it had to do with family) but again NO content. The primary content on Bill’s site focused on illegal immigration, making New Jersey affordable again, and infrastructure, which left me dissatisfied with New Jersey Right to Life’s endorsement of a candidate who often lacks the resolve to robustly defend life unless in that setting. I even reached out to Marie, from NJRTL questioning why a candidate who claims to be pro-life does not prominently feature this on his site, unlike Mario, who asserts that life begins at conception (right on his site) although unfortunately, Mario entered the race too late.
On Bill Spadea’s site, and I am not referring to brief videos of Bill on his site; I mean look at his main site where he outlines his Priorities for NJ. To reiterate, just two weeks ago, the pro-life icon with the baby was absent, replaced by two individuals, and clicking on it yielded no information. This is one of the many reasons for my skepticism. I wonder if because I complained to Marie Tasy about it that’s why it was updated or if because President Trump endorsed Jack now Bill isn’t as pressured to not talk about it on his page. It is all very interesting to me, and the timing is also interesting. I was on another call where a women called Spadea out for this same thing (not having his prolife on his website).
Now that Trump has endorsed Jack, I wonder if Bill feels emboldened to express his views? I am uncertain of his motivations. My doubts regarding Bill have been significant, especially after listening to his previous podcasts discussing Trump and putting him down and where he suggested that abortion is not front and center for New Jerseyans while dodging his prolife stance, among other issues.
It seems that candidates often tailor their messages to suit their audience.
Thereafter the NJRTL sent a letter to all defending their stance. I have been very disappointed with Politics and the entire game that is played and that includes organizations who endorse candidates before a primary. Senator Durr was actually the most prolife candidate of all, but NJRTL would not endorse him, but they endorsed Spadea why? I believe it is who has the best shot at winning, and I think we need to do the same to some degree if we want a Republican to win!
Also remember Bramnick is a Democrat in Republican clothing, and he must not win he made this comment “Before the
2024 presidential election, Bramnick said, “If Donald Trump wins New Jersey, I will absolutely withdraw. Because if that’s what New Jersey wants, I ain’t your guy.” Well, he definitely is not my guy!
Bill Spadea actually told me at the Liberty and Prosperity speaker event that he attended and spoke that he was the ONLY candidate in the race that was prolife which was not a true statement. I told him that to his face, I said Senator Durr was more prolife than anyone I had met he even tried to put bills in to protect the unborn but had no backing from his own republicans. Politics certainly can get very ugly and a lot of mudslinging, but we must listen to our hearts and what God tells us to do.
Soon you will have to choose one of these men. My Team the United for Life and others from different prolife organizations including the Egg Harbor City Crisis Pregnancy Center, and my Pastor went to meet with Jack at his meet and greet. He gave us a private meeting so we could all meet with him face to face and ask the pertinent questions. We were very satisfied and, in some cases, very happy with his answers. This is a man that gave me his personal cell number to reach him where it was hard to get ahold of Bill.
Jack will …
protect Crisis Pregnancy Centers,
He will defund Planned Parenthood when he is able to do his budget (July)
NJ will no longer be a Sanctuary State for Illegals and Abortion seekers, and he will protect sidewalk counselors like many of us.
On Jack’s site ( Prohibit elective abortions after 20 weeks while ensuring all women have access to high-quality prenatal care and education; 2) Support parental notification for minors seeking an abortion – the fact that a 16-year-old in New Jersey needs her parents’ permission to get her ears pierced, but not get an abortion is absurd; 3) Oppose taxpayer funding of abortion; 4) Oppose the so-called “Reproductive Freedom Act” signed into law by Governor Murphy that allows abortion up to the moment of birth; and 5) Support education and innovative approaches to reduce teenage and unwanted pregnancies.
He also is going to make sure the NJ Dept of Education gets their notices and put in place new leaders.
He will replace this aggressive and liberal Attorney General immediately. He also, will get rid of 5756 in the schools and protect parental rights.
Enact Term limits for legislators in NJ
Establish a DOGE in New Jersey. and the list goes on!!!
I recommend visiting both candidates’ websites to understand their content. Additionally, I observed that Spadea’s comments are quite limited in comparison to Jack’s comprehensive outline on priorities. Also read the Voters guide that the New Jersey Family Policy Centers Voter Guide for 2025:
Jack made eye contact with each of us, when we met with him, and we attentively listened, feeling satisfied. My Pastor even offered a prayer prior to our meeting.
In my assessment: I am considering the broader perspective, and when I witnessed The President contacting Jack, I interpreted it as a significant indication, as many others did. I even took it as a sign from God while we were sitting there. I am confident that Jack possesses the capability to succeed in this election. However, it is crucial to fully support whichever candidate emerges as the Republican nominee in the gubernatorial contest.
Many, including the NJ Family Policy Alliance, hesitate to endorse candidates prior to the primary due to various reasons, as they provide evaluations of all contenders. Go to NJ Family Policy to get a Voters guide.
My thoughts are: We require a leader capable of enacting meaningful change in New Jersey and fostering collaboration between both political parties, a challenging endeavor (The swamp is also in NJ). I am confident that Jack is the most qualified individual for this role. It is worth noting that President Lincoln faced defeat eight times before ultimately being elected. Therefore, Jack’s two losses do not diminish his qualifications; rather, they indicate his readiness and resilience. We progress by learning from our failures, which ultimately contribute to our growth.
I stand firm in my convictions and trust that Jack will include us in his vision to advance pro-life and pro-family initiatives throughout New Jersey. I have watched the change with Congressman Van Drew after me and my Pastor went to see him years ago with my presentation. Congressman Van Drew made me an excellent video to show at the Last Stand, and he is very Prolife now and I believe always was just needed backing. I am grateful to Congressman Van Drew! We can educate our Leaders and help them along the way. God is in control!
I am not instructing you on what actions to take, nor would I ever do so. However, I encourage each of you to vote with your convictions, as we often emphasize, not merely for the individual candidate but for the principles they represent. Additionally, we must look beyond the immediate details and recognize who has the potential to succeed in New Jersey. It is imperative that we fully support the candidate who emerges victorious in the New Jersey primary, ensuring that we secure a Republican Governor in office.
We must see the “Forrest past the Trees” and pick the best candidate qualified, ready, open to change, and with the Support of President Donald Trump can win the bigger race in November! The future of our families weighs in the balance.
I am speaking for myself a mother and a grandmother and a prolife advocate for over 15 years and who lives in NJ most of her life! My support will go to Jack Ciattarelli for Governor.
