“I woke up with a sore throat, cough and fever the day after Christmas. A doctor friend told me that since I am over 60, I should be tested for COVID and RSV right away. My long-time family doctor was put out of business by Obamacare years ago. The closest replacement I could find was an institutional Primary Care Group 13 miles away. So I went to the closest ER. I was seen quickly. The staff was pleasant. I saw a Physicians Assistant, not an MD. There was no physical exam like with my old family doctor. Not a stethoscope in sight — even for cough and chest congestion! Both tests were negative. I was told to go home and get plenty of rest and liquids. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Last week, I got the bill. $3,485! My co-pay was $25. My Medicare & Insurance were billed the balance of $3,460. Is this normal? Is this the real cost? Or is it a hidden tax that giving “free” medical care to millions of illegals?”
