1676 Project Is a Perfect Coffee Table Book for the Jersey Shore.

Besides teaching basic facts needed to understand American history, 1676 Project is a perfect coffee table book for every living room, especially in vacation homes. It will make anyone who browses through it an instant mayvin on South Jersey history and trivia.

Lenni Lenape Sachem (Chief) Teedyuscung (1700-1763)

Yesterday, I gave, your producer, Chris, a copy of the book. He told me that while flipping through it, he noticed the chapter on Teedyuscung, a Lenni Lenape chief. He said, “Gee, when I was a kid, my family spent summers in the Poconos in a cottage by Teedyuscung Trail. However, I never knew anything about the person that trail was named after until I read your book. Now I know the whole story!”

Teedyuscung was a Native American who grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He at first supported himself by making brooms and baskets. Later he moved to what is now Easton, Pennsylvania and became the “sachem” or chief of the Lenni Lenape. In 1758, he brought a dozen Native American nations together and changed the course of the French and Indian War.

But there are nuggets like that in every chapter of the book. How Bargaintown, Egg Harbor Township, and Somers Point got their names. How British soldiers got their red coats and how the term “pitchfork rebellion” started with the person Monmouth County is named after.

However, those details are icing on the cake. There is a far more important reason to read the 1676 Project. If you are a conservative, you know that America was once a truly great country. In fact, almost every Boomer–every American who grew up in the 1950s and 1960s agrees that almost every American had a far better quality of life then, than most kids growing up in America today. And it really doesn’t matter whether or not you are a Democrat or Republican, or white, black, Hispanic or whatever, we all agree on this.

Every “Boomer” knows they grew up in a far better America in the 1950s and 1960s than children growing up today. However, very few can explain why.

However, that is not what our Boomer generation taught our kids and grandkids and immigrants who came here. Our schools, colleges and pop culture taught the last three generations that America used to be a horrible place. We falsely told them over and over again that all the wealth and power of America came from slavery, conquest and exploitation. They were told that the only possible way to make America a good country is to fundamentally change it. So of course, more and more voters believe that. And so of course Democrats are now telling those voters what they want to hear. That is why we have been fundamentally changing America for the past sixty years. That is why things have been going from bad to worse to even worse.

Almost everyone in our Boomer generation knows that things in America used to be better in almost every way. However, few of us know exactly why they were better. And even fewer know how to explain this to our kids and grandkids.  That is why the book 1676 Project is so important.

1676 Project explains the values, the government, and the way of life that made America great for 300 years.

It explains the values, the government and the way of life people had in New Jersey in 1676, a full hundred years before American independence. Let me give you one example. I describe a book published in England in 1698 explaining how New Jersey and Pennsylvania were, were quote “very great and inviting to poor people”. And almost every visitor coming here in the late 1600s and early 1700s wrote exactly the same thing.

Above Image: Pamphlet published by Gabriel Thomas in England in 1698 describes Pennsylvania and West-New-Jersey as “very great and inviting for poor people.”

They all said that the most remarkable thing about New Jersey and Pennsylvania was that you didn’t see poor people. They said that in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, there were poor people everywhere. They were on every road and street begging for food and looking for work they could not find. But they said you didn’t see that anywhere in what are now South Jersey and Pennsylvania. In this part of America, everybody was busy. Everybody was working. Everybody was well fed. Everybody was living in good comfortable homes–many were made of brick! Almost everybody was prosperous and happy.

My book, 1676 Project explains what made this possible.  First, people believed and followed to basic Christian values. One was the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.”  The second was to learn and work a useful trade to support yourself and your family.

That meant kids were taught those basic values. And they were also taught what was needed to do that.  They were taught the “Three R’s — Reading, ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmetic or Reckoning.” They were taught a useful trade.

And the other thing that gave everybody “boundless opportunities” to apply those skills. There governments had very few laws and officials and almost no taxes. The only purpose of government was to settle disputes, protect property, lock up criminals, but everything else people did on their own. So in 1676, New Jersey had lower taxes and less government that almost any other society in human history.

And this what I found amazing. Last Thursday, I drove down Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City to deliver a copy of 1676 Project to our County Executive Dennis Levinson at the County Office Building there.

And what did I see? Dozens and dozens of unhappy people lined up at the door of the County Office Building to get their EBT cards, and SNAP cards and vouchers for free food, free housing, free health benefits, free everything. Everybody poor and everybody dependent on politicians running the government.

Then I saw in real time what my Boomer generation and our parents did to America. We grew up at a time when almost everyone in South Jersey was prosperous and self-sufficient. Very few were poor and dependent precisely because it was not the government’s job to take care of the poor. It was the job of everybody to support themselves and their families.

It was also the job of everybody to help people who found themselves poor because of some unusual tragedy caused by death, disease, an abusive or criminal spouse or something like that. Then the whole community would voluntary come forward and help that person on their own or through their church of some other voluntary association. The goal was to help those people get back on their feet–not to make them dependent on charity forever.

Today, we are doing the complete opposite of everything that worked so well in the past. That is an important part of my book the 1676 Project. That is why certain woke Democrats don’t want people, especially young people, reading that book.

Dennis Levinson, County Executive of Atlantic County Stood Up to “Woke.”  Atlantic County Library System Now Ordering 1676 Project books for All 10 Branches.

That brings me to the second part of this story.  I gave a copy of my 1676 book to Denny Levinson, our County Executive because I had a problem with our Atlantic County Library that should not have been a problem. I spent almost a year writing and publishing this book. It tells many things that every person in South Jersey should know about on South Jersey’s 350th year 250 years since the birth of our nation.

About three weeks ago, had a very pleasant conversation with one of the main librarians at our Atlantic County Library. I told her about my book. I asked how they could make copies of that book available at the ten branches of the Atlantic County Library System. She seemed very interested and said she would order a copy from my publisher and get back to me.  That was three weeks ago.  As you know, I went away to spend Passover with my grandkids. Three weeks later, I found that nobody from the library had gotten back to me. So I called that librarian and left a voicemail. And then I called the next day. And nobody got back to me. And so I went to the County Office Building in Atlantic City and gave a copy of the book with Dennis Levinson. And I told him that nobody in the library had gotten back to me, and that nobody was returning my calls.

Then something remarkable happened. I have no idea what Denny Levinson did or said after I left him a copy of my book. However, within an hour and a half, I got a very call from the chief librarian of the Atlantic County Library. “”Oh, that book is very interesting. We’d like to purchase it. We’re going to have two copies available at every branch of the Atlantic County Library starting next week. And by the way, if you’d like to, have a book signing at our library or events at the library branches, we’ll be happy to help you set that up.”

So, all I can say is “What a difference a day makes.”  Or what a difference an hour and a half makes. Or what a difference one phone call from Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson makes!

So, I am very proud of Dennis Levinson. I am very thankful to him. He could not have been more helpful or supportive. in changing attitudes at the Atlantic County Library.

And this is far more important that the Atlantic County Library. This book ought to be in every public school in South Jersey.  And here’s another situation.

There is a special historical committee that is setting up special events to celebrate the 250th year of American independence. And their first event will be at the Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor on Saturday May 2. I think they are going to have some speeches, some music, some written materials and possibly some re-enactments to explain the American Revolution.  So, I called the organizers of that committee and said, “I just published this book that not only explains the American Revolution, but it also explains what happened a hundred years before the American Revolution to make it possible. Would you like me take part in this celebration? Can I talk about the book and distribute copies of the book?” And the answer I got from one committee member was “Oh no! We can’t allow that.”  “We can’t be divisive.” “We can’t be political.” We can’t allow anything to be sold there.”  Oh really?  They are advertising that they will have food trucks there. Will they be giving away food or selling it? I even offered to give books away. So far, nobody from that committee got back to me.

These battles are much bigger than my 1676 book. They are bigger than me. They are about whether the truth can still be told in America.

So, this little 1676 history book is quickly becoming the most important project of our Liberty and Prosperity group. That is because for the last fifty years, it was normal for our libraries, for our pop culture, for our schools and colleges to teach this garbage that America was built on slavery. America was built on conquest and extermination of the Indians. America was built on toxic men who kept women under their thumb. Every bit of that is an absolute lie. And my book refutes every one of those lies, point by point.

Look at what they are doing. They have all of these books and programs and special events teaching one lie after another. And they call that “education.” But when I want to talk about a book that is fully documented, presents undisputed facts, and which exposes and refutes each of those lies, they say, “Grossman’s book is ‘political’.” We can’t allow it in our library.” “We can’t allow it in our school.” “It can’t be part of our historical event.”

So, these battles are bigger than my book. They are bigger than me. We are in a battle to decide whether the truth can still be told in America. And I urge all of your listeners to read this book. Buy it or borrow it from the library. And it it is not in your library, or historical society, or in the school library of your kids or grandkids, insist that they get the book.  We need every person listening now to be a Denny Levinson.

Now whether you’re in Cape May County, Cumberland County, Ocean County, wherever this signal goes, I need your help to get this book and the truth back into your public institutions of learning and education. That is a big priority.

JOHN DEMASI: You know, Denny did you a solid. Believe me. But, where else can you go for help?

SETH GROSSMAN:  Republicans are running Cape May County government. We have Republicans in Cumberland County. We have Republicans running most of the towns in Atlantic and Cape May County. And yet too many of them let the NJEA teachers union and the far-left librarian union decide what books are available and what points of view can be expressed in libraries, schools and special events. And even though these Republican commissioners, mayors, township committee people can do the same thing in their counties and towns that Denny Levinson just did in Atlantic County, most of them seem to do absolutely nothing. Maybe its because they don’t know how bad the problem is. Maybe they don’t think this is important. Maybe they don’t want to make enemies over this.

However, I think, if if your listeners start going to their local libraries and asking to borrow the book, and demanding that the book be displayed, not just in their county and local libraries, but in their school libraries, historical societies, and special events that these towns have from time to time, we can change the culture.

Let’s face it. If if we train generation after generation of our kids to hate America, they will keep voting for Democrats, because right now, the Democratic Party is the party that hates everything good about America.

These Republicans needed to start understanding that they will never beat Democrats in elections if they allow two thirds of all students come out of high school and college year after year hating everything good about America.

Democratic Party has become, the party that hates America. So how are you going to defeat Democrats in any election if you support what is good about America, while two thirds of all  voters under the age of 40 want to vote for candidates who hate America?

The Jewish Holocaust Remembrance Day is Monday night, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14.  Leftists don’t like it because it promotes Jews being independent, strong and self-reliant in Israel.

There will be a community-wide program at Beth El Synagogue in Margate New Jersey at 5:30 pm this Monday, April 13.

These ceremonies are very moving and very important. However, for the past few years, they have been very poorly attended. I think there are two main reasons for that.

First, many people say, why are you remembering the Holocaust in April. Wasn’t there an International Holocaust Remembrance Day last January?

The short answer is that the January observances are international events supervised by the United Nations and many leftist organizations. They observe it in January to remember with the Red Army of Communist Russia liberated the Auschwitz extermination camp in January of 1945.

The main purpose of remembering the Holocaust at that time is to praise Communist Russia for defeating Nazi Germany and ending the Holocaust. By doing this, it gets people to overlook many inconvenient facts about Communist Russia and Nazi Germany. Like that both nations were run by socialist regimes that starved and killed millions of people. It also gets people to forget the fact that Communist Russia and Nazi Germany were allies at the beginning of World War 2 and that Communist Russia made Nazi Germany strong enough to do the Holocaust.

And of course, the socialist Holocaust ceremonies are connected to the other socialist ceremonies that promote other leftist causes, like Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Gay Pride Month, Juneteenth, that turns June into a second Black History Month and so on.

All of these observances are designed to portray communists and socialists on the left protecting all sorts of victim groups from oppressor groups said to be on the far-right, Christian nationalists, and so on.

The Jewish Holocaust have a completely different message.  That message is that Jews were persecuted in Europe and in Muslim countries in North Africa and the Middle East because they did not have a nation, did not have an army and could not defend themselves.

And so, during the late 1800s, Jews began to buy empty desert and malaria infested swamp in Palestine, and they built their own country of Israel there. The communists and socialists and other woke leftist groups don’t like that message.  They don’t like self-sufficient people who take care of themselves. They like dependent people who want socialists and communists to protect and control them. So, they promote the United Nation observances in January the praise the achievements of Communist Russia and its Red Army.

Too many Jewish Leaders, Like Leaders of ADL and Mainstream Jewish Federations Are Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places.

But there is another big problem. And that is our Jewish leadership. Most Jewish leaders in America, like the ADL, the Anti-Defamation League and many establishment Jewish organizations are looking for love in all the wrong places. They want to be accepted by the leftists. They want to be accepted by the Muslims.

Jewish leaders should be identifying with mainstream America. They should be saying things like antisemitism, or the persecution of Jews in Europe was just like the persecution of Quakers in England. Both were caused by ignorance and envy. And the Jews who build their own nation in Israel were just like the Quakers who came to America and build New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

But I don’t see Jewish leaders talking about the similarities of Jews in Europe and Israel and Quakers in England in America. I also don’t see Jewish leaders making common cause with Hindus who are also persecuted and massacred by by the Muslims in India and Bangladesh or Christians who are being persecuted and massacred in Lebanon and Africa.

I see way too many Jewish leaders trying to instead make friends with people who hate us, and who are going to keep hating us no matter what they do. . .

Democrats now campaigning to blame new Data Centers for the high electric bills they caused by shutting down productive power plants.

We all know that Democrats caused high electric bills in New Jersey by shutting down many of our most productive power plants. We now have to pay a lot more for electricity that is produced hundreds of miles away. So now that, Mikey Sherrill is our Governor, the Democrats are doing whatever they can to distract us from that obvious fact. They are trying to blame someone else. That is why they are now launching this new petition campaign to stop building new data centers for artificial intelligence. They want to blame them for the big hikes in electric rates. . .  We need to say, “Of course don’t give special discounts to data centers. Everybody should pay the same rates. We should all pay what it costs to make electricity. However, we need to bring down the cost of electricity for everyone by building new nuclear power plants and rebuilding and replacing the power plants Governor Murphy shut down and destroyed by letting us use cheap and abundant natural gas from Pennsylvania.

And just as important, don’t allow the BPU, the Board of Public Utilities, to use money from our electric bills, to finance all these woke, green projects like moving mud in the swamp from one place to another, like the so-called environmental restoration of that swamp by the wetlands institute in Avalon.

Why do we release known violent criminals to kill, rob, and injure more innocent people?  According to Grok AI (Artificial Intelligence):

  • A large Swedish population-based study (covering over 2 million people and convictions from 1973–2004) found that just 1% of the population (persistent violent offenders with 3+ violent convictions) accounted for 63.2% of all violent crime convictions. This included a disproportionate share of aggravated violence. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
  • Older U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) analyses and cohort studies (e.g., Philadelphia, Racine, Columbus) indicated that a small subset of juveniles or offenders (often 6–34%) were responsible for 61–72% of serious/index crimes in those groups, with high-rate offenders committing a mix of violent and non-violent acts. bjs.ojp.gov
  • BJS prisoner surveys and related analyses have noted that a significant portion of violent crimes (sometimes estimated around one-third in certain contexts) are linked to known repeat offenders who had prior contact with the justice system but were released or cycled through. brookings.edu
  • In one analysis of state prisoners, a small fraction (e.g., ~16% of released prisoners) accounted for nearly half of all post-release arrests across crime types, underscoring the skewed distribution.
