During the 1950s, Senator Joe McCarthy was right 95% of the time when he claimed that Communists and Communist sympathizers in high government positions and in Hollywood were shaping public opinion and America’s foreign policy to hurt America and our friends overseas. However, few people believe that today because he used Roy Cohen’s methods of personally attacking anyone who disagreed with him.
SETH GROSSMAN: During the 1950s, Roy Cohen was the lawyer who advised Senator Joe McCarthy. Roy Cohen was a bully. He viciously attacked and insulted anyone who disagreed with him. He never admitted being wrong or making a mistake. And he may have been a big influence on Donald Trump.
However, his advice and his methods ruined Senator Joe McCarthy. Joe McCarthy was right about 95% of everything he said. We now know that Communists loyal to Joe Stalin, a murdering dictator who killed millions of people, did infiltrate, the highest levels of the United States government when Franklin Roosevelt was President.
Roosevelt’s Vice-President, Henry Wallace was one of many Communists who held top government positions during World War 2 and they sold our country and our friends around the world to Communist regimes led by Joe Stalin.

We are very lucky that Franklin Roosevelt dumped Henry Wallace and replaced him with Harry Truman as Vice President in 1944, just before Roosevelt died. God knows what would have happened to this country if Henry Wallace had become President in 1945 after Roosevelt died. Even so, China was America’s biggest and strongest ally. Even back then, it had half a billion people. And in 1949, China flipped from being America’s best friend to our worst enemy. And millions of our best friends in Poland and Eastern Europe and in Vietnam in Asia also flipped from being our best friends to being our worst enemies.
It was absolutely horrible that Communists in top positions in our government worked against our country to put millions of good people into horrible Communist dictatorships. But hardly anybody today knows that. Most Americans today only know that Roy Cohen and Joe McCarthy viciously attacked a lot of people and called them Communists just to settle personal scores. Those Roy Cohen methods completely discredited the true things that Joe McCarthy said.
So that is the lesson that Trump should have learned from Roy Cohen. In the long term, those methods don’t work at all. And this is what we talk about at Liberty and Prosperity. You need common sense and reason and good judgment in dealing with people. You often need to use a scalpel instead of a sledgehammer. This is something that our side has to learn.
Meanwhile, today, Liberty and Prosperity is part of Bayfest on Bay Avenue in Somers Point today. We have a tent right in front of the Shore Medical Center with the Knights of Columbus on one side and a wonderful organization called She Thrives on the other side. She Thrives is a wonderful organization in Linwood, New Jersey. It helps single mothers get back on their feet. Its with the Mission Point Church in Somers Point. They actually loaned us our tent so we wouldn’t get wet today.
We are having colder weather lately. But the media only reports that as local news. It seems that the national news media only reports temperatures when the weather is unusually hot!
And that brings us to another point. It is cold today. So, if you want to enjoy Bayfest in Somers Point today, you need to dress warm. Wear long pants, a good sweater and a windbreaker. You can do it. People enjoy Mardi Gras in New Orleans in February when it’s cold. People bring their kids at night to Storybook Land before Christmas when it’s freezing.
And now, talking about the temperature is political. That is because Jersey is is wasting all this money, on so called global warming. We’re paying higher electric bills because they closed all the gas-powered plants, the coal-powered plants and the generators run by oil. The state is now making a bunch of new rules and regulation that will soon make it very expensive, or not impossible to build or improve any building on any barrier island. So, if you have a house or any business on Brigantine, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate, Long Point, all the way down to Cape May you will soon have big problems. That because of the so-called threat of climate change and the so-called threat of flooding.
I’ve seen some of the new rules. If they go through, you won’t even be able to build a new wooden fence around your backyard. You’ll have to have big gaps between the slats of your fence so that the flood water can go through.
This will affect everyone in many different ways. If you want to put in a new kitchen, or new windows, or a new roof, you might find out you can’t get a building permit unless you make your whole building comply with these new rules.
And we all know that for the past three or four years, it’s been getting colder, not warmer. And if you don’t, believe me, just look at your gas or electric bill. Mine in Somers Point says that the average temperature for March of this year, 2026, was 45 and a half degrees. That’s a full three degrees lower than it was last year.
And, of course, the the biggest, proof that it’s been getting colder lately is, Harry Hurley’s ducks. I don’t know if you heard him talk about them. But a few days ago, he said he has the same ducks fly up from the South, and come to his backyard pool every year. And he said that usually, the ducks fly up during the last week in March. But he said that this year, his ducks didn’t show up until just a few days ago, in April. So even Harry Hurley’s ducks are telling us that it’s colder this year, and that even the ducks know they are better off spending a few more weeks in Florida.
So, we joke about it, but the physical reality is that it has been getting colder for the past few years. But if you watch the TV news, you won’t know that. For the past month, almost every national TV news program will tell you it’s been a very hot day somewhere. It could be a very cold day everywhere else. But that’s not national news. It’s local news. So most people in the country think, “It’s been really cold here for the past few weeks, but it must be very hot everywhere else!”
It is obvious that the media does that to promote this climate change agenda, and that’s something we have to fight. And, and that’s why we post this stuff on our website.
JOHN DEMASI: Yeah. I noticed that too. You know, global warming when it’s hot. But then, you know, like last week, it wasn’t. What was it? 34 degrees or something? It was almost freezing. They don’t talk about that.
SETH GROSSMAN: But look at the national news. They’ll say, oh, it was a very hot day in Arizona today. But they won’t mention that three fourths of the country was colder than ever. Right.
The Left is using shareholder meetings to force big corporations to fund their “woke” agenda.
Meanwhile, here’s something else that people rarely pay attention to. Many people, especially us older folks, have investments in the stock market. So we get these notices of the corporations we own stock in having their yearly shareholder meetings taking place. I happen to own stock in companies like Exxon, Chevron, and Goldman Sachs.
And when I look at the stuff that’s getting voted on at these shareholder meetings, I see that leftist s are using these meetings, that few people pay attention to, to control our biggest corporations.
So, for one corporation, that is a proposed resolution for the company to spend lots of money to promote quote “climate change, resiliency and sustainability.” There is also a resolution that would force the company to spend even more money for quote
diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
So, on top of everything else we have to do, we have to pay attention to those forms. We have to fill them out and mail them or vote online. Your proxy vote may make a difference. And the difference is whether your retirement investments will help you live comfortably, or whether they will pay for a bunch of woke causes you don’t like. And these woke causes can make these corporations lose money and ruin your investment. Your proxy vote might make a difference.
This is especially important now. A few years ago, your proxy vote may have meant nothing. That is because these pension funds and investment funds like Blackrock, Vanguard and the others voted your shares and supported these woke causes. But many of them are no longer doing that.
So whether you own a single share or a few hundred shares of any stock, open the mail, read the notice and see what is at stake. You may have the power to make a big difference.
By the way, not all of these shareholder resolutions are put up by leftists. There is one issue put up by a conservative group. It is called a resolution for “DEI Oversight.” If that resolution is approved, the corporation would have to do a study to find out how much money the corporation loses when it hires and promotes people based on race, gender or ethnic group rather than merit.
That resolution is one of the few things you should vote “yes” on. It’s important to remember that a lot of the stuff that nobody else is talking about is tuff that can affect your life the most.
JOHN DEMASI: Well, that’s why your organization is what it is.

SETH GROSSMAN: And by the way, the big national story that’s had a lot of local contact is what the Southern Poverty Law Center, the SPLC has been doing for the past twelve years. This affected me personally when I was a candidate for Congress in 2018. And our own Stockton University was a gig part of their fraud.
During the past twelve years, the Southern Poverty Law Center spent more than $3 million to promote fake Nazi and White Supremacist groups. Those were the groups that held those Tiki Torch rallies and demonstrations at Charlottesville, Virginia in the summer of 2017. They insulted and threatened Blacks. They insulted and threatened Jews. And these people were a handful of nobodies. They had no following. They had no money. They had no organization. They had no support. However, because the leftists of the Southern Poverty Law Center gave these people $3 million, and because the mainstream media gave them headline news coverage for weeks, many people were fooled into thinking that these people were a real threat, and that President Trump and Republicans supported them.
And now we know it was all a big lie. And this was not just exposed by Kash Patel and And it turns out it’s all a big lie. And there are two main sources of this. One, of course, is Kash Patel and the FBI indicting the SPLC last Tuesday. There were also big stories by CBS News and the New York Post.
