Elections and Voting: Addressing recent remarks by Donald Trump, Grossman noted that non-citizen voting is currently a minimized issue due to active deportations of lawbreakers. Regarding election interference and voter data security, he emphasized that public records make preventing data access difficult. Anyway, about Trump’s – speech, I I thought it was interesting. – His top points he brought up of, for – example, non citizen voting. Well, the best way – to stop non citizens from voting is to – deport illegals – and to – and if – anyone who’s a non citizen here with a – green card breaks the law – revoke their green card and deport them and – basically that’s what Trump has been doing for – the past year – and, – really non citizen voting, – is really not a big problem right now – because of that. Because even though some non – citizens, – may be on the books, – now that they see what is happening, – to people who who get a – traffic ticket or a drug charge or anything, – they’re getting deported. So – I think that’s pretty much under control. – When – President Trump talked about the interference in election, – About China getting the names of our voters – and then getting information to them to influence – their vote. – You know, sadly whether the Chinese or anyone – else – gets that voter information, we’re an open society – and there’s nothing you could do, – to get people from getting public records, public – information – and using them to influence them, people. – So China has been doing that – but the – probably even bigger than China, Qatar Q A – T A R. – That’s basically a Muslim Brotherhood country and they’ve – pumped $62,000,000,000 – into our colleges and high schools – during the past thirty years. The influence, – you know how our students – feel and how they – vote. So there’s really no substitute – for – educating our children. You know getting them off – TikTok, – having them read books, – you know ditch the the screens, – learn critical – how to tell a lie from the truth – by by analyzing it and so – you know that’s not an easy thing to – do but we have to focus on it – and I think my sixteen seventy six book – points that out. You know there’s you just – have to read – the thing that made civilization – was when the cavemen used to swap stories – around the campfire – and you can’t you know learn a lifetime – of experience – of somebody and you know you actually can’t – learn everything you need to know in a – lifetime. – You need hundreds and thousands of years of – collective wisdom – to live in a normal – comfortable civilized society and that means reading books – and what’s happening if people stop reading books – and they just you know go by what – they see on tick tock or on TV – we’re right back to the caveman days of – swapping stories around a campfire – so we have to you know teach our – children how to read. We have to read. – We have to get back to those Bible – values. We have to go back to the – golden rule doing to others – as you would want others to do into – you. – You can’t if there’s a failure in your – life we got to learn from Ben Franklin – learn a skill work with other people – save your money – form partnerships – get married do these things to achieve success – for yourself – instead of being jealous at somebody else and – wanting the government to take something from somebody – else and give it to you now we – have to give it to you. Now we – have to use logic and reason again so, – yeah it’s easy to complain about Chinese influencer – or or Qatar in influence or this influence – or that influence but if people are educated – and have principles and moral standards and think – for – identify – the fake stuff and sort it out, and, – then we can move forward. – You know, – you said a lot of things there and – I don’t know how you get the young – people off TikTok. – It starts right there, you know. – And you’re right. You know, we gotta read – more, – We gotta do more thinking. – And – the, – the the these – TikTok and all these things don’t encourage thinking. – Just, you know, – clickbait and all that stuff. So, yeah, it’s – it’s it’s a very good point. – And and it’s a painful thing and I – was there upfront and personal because I I – spent two weeks on vacation, – you know, with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids. – And it is very, very tempting. You wanna – enjoy dinner, you wanna talk. – Kids are getting are distracted – they’re bored they’re running around it’s very easy – to take that cell phone put a game – on it and stick it in front of – the kid that’s a great pacifier for twenty – minutes – But the long term damage is well documented – and you just have to resist it. You – just have to say, well, you know, almost – like our parents. Our parents didn’t go out – to eat, you know, every – night. Then you go out to eat every – week was a important thing you know meals – at home – but the discipline of getting kids that if – they’re bored they they can’t just feel – that I just pick up a cell phone – pick up a screen you know pick up – an iPad – and have somebody entertain me all the time – you know that’s that’s something – that it because if we do that – then yeah if people rely on the screen – for everything – it’s very easy to influence them to to – do some very bad things, not just the – politics. So so Trump touched on that, but – I think we have to take it the – rest of the way and learn the the – long term, – problems. – I agree. I agree. Yeah. That definitely. I – agree. I mean, Trump Trump was right about – the, we need a voter ID that would – cut down on on fraud. – The the idea of being able to hack – voting machines. – To me, who’s been in politics my entire – life, – it’s it absolutely baffles me – why when we in New Jersey – had these machines, these voting machines called Schoop – mechanical voting machines. – We had those voting machines in New Jersey – since 1890. – They were mechanical not electronic. – You know, there was a counter, – you opened up the counter at it when – the polls close at 08:00 at night. Everyone – knew how they worked. If the counter didn’t – work, there was a backup register tape that – recorded every vote and suddenly in the 1890s – or rather in the 1990s and you know – just you know thirty years ago we got – rid of them all and got this complicated – computer stuff that we have now – and it was done when we had Republican – governor, Christie Todd Whitman, – Republican – state senate, Republican legislator. We had Bill Gormley, – all those Republicans and they got rid of – those mechanical voting machines. It would be so – easy to just get them back because we – know they worked for a hundred years. – But that, you know, maybe someone who – one of the county officials could could talk – about – why that happened and why we can’t go – back to it. – Well well, we have a lot of questions – for them. That that that’ll be another one. – But but by the way, the biggest, – problem that is causing Republicans to lose, – and I know I’ve talked about this a – lot, – and and that’s the legal vote harvesting. – I think I’m an expert on elections because – my first election when I was like 26 – years old, I lost by three votes. – And then I got elected – as a county commissioner – by one vote. – And I saw how it works and and – the real problem – is is not, you know, illegal votes are – always a problem and Democrats have always – had an advantage – in voter theft because Democrats believe government is – important. – So so they wanna win the election so – they could get free stuff from the government. – It comes naturally to them. But the biggest – problem is not the illegal votes, it’s the – legal votes. – And if you look at the people, whenever – you see a Republican is ahead on election – night – and then you’ll see in the next two – or three days these paper ballots come in, – and you know with and and they go – 90% for the Democrats, 98% – for the Democrats. – And and it’s easy to think that there’s – fraud going on, but what is really happening – is voting voter harvesters. – You got these, community organizers. – They’re in these organizations – that are funded by the government. – They give out three electric bill vouchers. Vouchers. – You know, free food vouchers, – free this, free that, – free housing vouchers. – And they get a whole class of people – who are dependent on them. – And then before the election, they just go – around. You know, the people who are on – their drug program, their alcohol program, their, you – know, psychiatric – program, mental health, all that stuff. – These people would never be voting ordinarily – because some of them are drunk, some of – them are on drugs, some of them are – sick, some of them have legitimate problems, some – of them are old, some of them are – nursing homes. – But the fact is all these people are – dependent – on some organization – to to to keep them – going. And so about a month before the – election, the the same people who give them – the benefit say, oh, by the way, if – you want the funding to keep going, if – you want the program to keep going here, – vote for these candidates and they’ll keep us – going. – That’s the real problem – And Elon Musk identified it with his Doge, – doge, – and, – and and and it’s encouraged by this vote – harvest. We’ve got to get back to one – election day. Because if we went back to – one election day, 95% – of those people would not be voting, and – that’s the key to honest elections. But to – to say it’s fraud, – it it’s not really fraud because it’s technically – legal. You you always bring up some complicated – issues. – I I I know. And and that’s the – whole idea. When Goldman gets complicated, it gets – corrupt because people can’t follow all the details. – And that’s why we gotta make it simple – again. You know, why things are so expensive – and why it’s so difficult to do business – in the state. I just realized three weeks – ago that my book, sixteen seventy six project, – every time I sell a book I have – to charge sales tax on it. So only, – certain books or exempt from this sales tax, – certain textbooks, but not mine. – So I I wanted to pay my sales – tax. So, – I spent the last four days, – trying to contact the state to, – to pay you know, how do I register – and pay the sales tax? They have this – whole website – on how to do business in New Jersey. – And and I was surprised that there was – no special stuff on the website – that would tell someone who’s a I’m in – business. I want to know how to pay – my sales tax. You had to go to – one site to another. But what I did – get, – they were steering me into – if you’re in small business, how the government – can help you make money. – And so – and and and it gave, detailed of how – I could be certified – for all these categories of businesses. And they – kept telling me that if I get a – certification – for these businesses – then I could get extra government contracts that – I wouldn’t get ordinarily. – And it’s amazing, – I I think there are nine. They they – give you instructions how to get a small – business enterprise certification, – how to get a socially and economically – disadvantaged business certificate, – how to get an emerging, – small business enterprise certificate, – how to get an urban enterprise zone certificate, – how to get certified as a disabled veteran. – How to get certified as a non disabled – veteran. How to be a certification be a – disadvantaged – business enterprise. – How to get an LGBTQ – plus business certification. – And how to get a minority women owned – business certification. – So in other words instead of just telling – ordinary people – here’s how you pay your taxes, here’s how – you stay in compliance, they’re trying to get – every business – dependent – on government contracts by qualifying for these special – things. And this is why – everything is so expensive. So I I just – got a real education there. – Welcome to the state of New Jersey. – Yeah. – And and and of course, the big story – last week, we we didn’t get to talk – to is the state wants to spend – $50,000,000 – in the study – to build to improve our convention center which – is almost empty we actually have two empty – convention centers in Atlantic City and they want – to do that because they want to because – they want us, the state wants to spend – $3,000,000,000 – to build a new convention center in Rutherford. – And we keep forgetting that if you go – to Orlando in Florida, you go to Texas, – you find out that the government doesn’t run – convention centers. You have the Gaylord, – you know, Palms in in Orlando. You have – the Gaylord – Opaland in Nashville – and and the government doesn’t pay a dime – to build these first class convention centers. They’re – hotels. They’re fabulous. – And instead of getting money from the government, – they all pay property taxes. – And so instead of having the government build – private businesses – that could be built privately and men pay – us taxes, – we don’t build the stuff we need to – build. We need a jail in Atlanta County. – We need a mental institution in Atlanta County – to get all the criminals and crazy people – off the streets and boardwalk who are chasing – away the tourists. We need a need a – juvenile jail. I mean you wouldn’t believe – these dangerous, – 16 and 17 year olds who are threatening – people and causing fights and doing all these – things and chasing tourists away. But we don’t – have money to build the public things that – we need – because we’re spending too much money on stuff – that the so called economic development that we – we don’t need. And I guess the final – point of that is, – Atlantic City just declared the the Claridge Hotel – as a historic landmark. – And this weekend is the anniversary of, you – know, Lucy Elephant being a historic landmark. – The Claridge Hotel was built – in less than a year. – If if they wanted to build a market – elephant today could you imagine how they would – get the permits to do that? – So in other words, these things are only – historic landmarks – because business people can’t – possibly build today – what we took for granted you know fifty – a hundred years ago before we had all – these crazy zoning rules. You have poor Eustace – Meeta in Ocean – City. For years, Wonderland Pier has been broke, – and and this guy wants to build a – five story hotel, and he can’t build it.
