Atlantic County freeholders reject proposed $3 extra tax on each document filed with County Clerk.

Because roughly 83,000 documents are filed each year, the new tax would have collected $250,000 per year. ? Under state law, a “Homeless Prevention Task Force” consisting of homeless or formerly homeless individuals and organizations advocating for the homeless would have decided how to spend the money. ? 6 Republicans voted “No”. Both Democrats voted “Yes”. Republican Alex Marino voted “Yes” with Democrats. ?Democrats complained publicly. Republicans admitted privately–“If Liberty and Prosperity did not make this such a big public issue on talk radio, Facebook, etc., all nine freeholders would have quietly approved the tax as a ‘bi-partisan’ measure last month!” (Back right shoulder of Democrat State Senator Jim Whelan is shown in front row of audience on left side of photo. He did NOT speak during the public comment portion of meeting.)

The Center for Community Change was behind this Homeless Trust Fund ordinance. http://www.cccaction.org/focus-areas/electoral/ John McCain and Jeff Flake are involved with this leftist organization. The CCC receives funding thru the Oaks Foundation http://www.oakfnd.org/node/1310 This is the parent group of ACORN. After the meeting Jim Schroeder was heard shouting obscenities in the parking lot. Explains why Senator Whelan and he were there, it was a big deal to them.
