Seth Grossman is a regular guest on WPG Radio’s ‘Talk With A Purpose’ with host John Demasi. Sept. 21, 2024.
Issues discussed:
Republican Assemblywoman Claire Swift and Atlantic County Clerk Joe Giralo will be at our weekly breakfast at Somers Point at 9:30 AM.
We have an open invitation to all public officials to meet with us. We meet the Banquet Room of Sal’s Coal Fired Pizza, 501 New Road, by Groveland Avenue, in Somers Point. The issues we talk about are then posted on our website and put in our emails, Facebook and Twitter.
I’m afraid Claire Swift is going to get an earful from us. Because most of us are not happy with what our Atlantic County Republicans have been doing in Trenton during the past three years.
Their model has been: give Democratic Governor Murphy everything he wants, and Murphy throws us a few crumbs:
2. Meanwhile, our Republican legislators are doing nothing about the most important issues clobbering us:
a. Bail Reform and limits on police and law enforcement
b. Dumping drug addicts, mentally ill and illegal immigrants all over Atlantic City
c. Mandatory recycling that costs a fortune and does nothing
d. Diverting state income tax money to Democrat towns
e. Mandating cost hikes for public schools.
Offshore Wind Turbines
Fundraiser at Sophia’s in Margate at 1pm, 9/21/24. Tickets are $100. I will be one of the speakers.
Last Wednesday’s public hearing in Atlantic City. City Council in a 5-4 vote agreed to support offshore wind turbines in two ways:
A. Give away rights to prime beaches, ballfields, parks and a boathouse in exchange for worthless swamp
B. Install high voltage electric cables through the Chelsea neighborhood, right next to two public schools.
C. It was a 5-4 vote.
D. The key swing vote was that of Mohammad Huq, who was appointed just 90 minutes before the vote.
E. Mohammad Huq was selected to represent the 5th Ward, which happens to be the Chelsea Neighborhood which will be most damaged by the project.
F. Muhammad Huq was appointed to fill the vacancy caused when the previous councilman, Muhammad Zia was booted out for not living in the City.
G. Mohammad Huq was selected by the Democratic Committee of Atlantic City, which is controlled by Mayor Marty Small.
Last month, the only people who spoke for the project for either paid, or expected to make money from the project.
Last Wednesday, the only people who spoke against the project were white. Although Steve Young spoke against the Wind Turbines at a Press Conference, he did not speak last Wednesday at City Hall.
Atlantic City’s Black mayor and Black Council Members Sporty Randolph and Kaleem Shabazz were for the project.
Not one single College Professor, High School teacher or student showed up to speak one way or another. Meanwhile six years ago, all those academics showed up at every public hearing to lie about building a natural gas pipeline to save the electric power plant by Milepost 28 of the Garden State Parkway.
Seth comments about Ocean Wind:
Finland is a small country in Europe about half the size of New Jersey. Last year, it built one nuclear power plant. It immediately cut electric rates in half, and now has the lowest electric rates in Europe.
Meanwhile New Jersey has some of the highest rates in America and rates are climbing every month. That is because we are paying a fortune for wind and solar projects through hidden taxes in our electric bills. We are also paying through inflation.
Simple Explanation:
A. Nuclear: Steady power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non-stop for a year.
B. Wind Turbine. Stops and starts, and only runs at full capacity 110 days per year.
C. Solar: Doesn’t work at night or when clouds go by. Full capacity less than 55 days per year.
D. Atlantic County Utility lies on its website when it says its 5 wind turbines can power 2,500 homes. So far, they didn’t even do clinical trials to see if they can power a single home.
E. Atlantic City resolution repeats blatant lie that wind turbines would power 700,000 households, or 20% of state.
F. If a private business tried to use those whoppers of lies to sell a product, it would be shut down in a heartbeat for consumer fraud, and have to pay all sorts of fines and penalties.
The immigration debate. It is important to be focused and specific. We lose the argument if we just talk about immigrants committing crimes and costing too much money. When we do that, , Democrats and the media say – See, we told you that Republicans are racists and bigots. You are saying exactly what racists used to say about Jewish, Italian, and Irish immigrants a hundred years ago.
Republicans have to say this: It’s not immigrants that are bad. It’s the unsustainable number of immigrants that are bad. In 1920, we put limits on immigration to 100,000 per year. When we enforced that law, we made Americans the most productive, best paid and happiest people in the world.
Also, we need immigrants who share our basic Judeo Christian values of Ten Commandments and Love your neighbor as yourself.
You don’t have to be Jewish or Christian to embrace those values. Most Hindus and Buddhists and all civiliz
We need to deport illegal immigrants. Not because they are bad, but because we can only handle a few hundred thousand a year—not 5 million a year.
Many illegal immigrants are temporarily legal because Joe Biden gave them illegal “immigration parole”. That means they applied for asylum, with no evidence to back up their application. We need a President to revoke those illegal parole’s and then detain and deport them as illegal.
By the way, all of those poor people in all of those failed countries can live the American Dream without coming to America. That is the meaning of New Jersey’s motto, Liberty and Prosperity.
If you embraced America’s culture of Ten Commandments, Love Your Neighbor As Yourself, Unalienable rights, Limited, Constitutional government, you can have Prosperity in any country.
It would be nice if Trump could make those arguments. But he can’t. And so we have to make those arguments for him.
