Bangladeshi Newlyweds Beheaded without Trial in Saudi Arabia for “Immoral Act.” Was it a kiss?

Saudi Arabia has executed 330 people so far this year. Most were done by public beheading. Many, if not most were for non-violent violations of Sharia, or Islamic law. Many convictions were based on “confessions” obtained through torture.

Saudi Arabia applies the Sharia or Islamic Law of the Wahhabi or Salafi cult of Islam. The Saudi family that rules Saudi Arabia today began during the late 1770s. That was when the son of Muhammad Saud, a warrior chief from Nejd married the daughter of Muhammad Wahhab, a warrior Islamic preacher. Wahhab taught that Islam was at its greatest between the years 622AD and 722AD. This was when Muslims were ruled by Muhammad himself and his companions, and the two generations that came after them. These early Muslims were known as the “Salafi” or “pious ones.”

During those hundred years, Arabs from Arabia conquered all of the Middle East, North Africa, and Persia, and most of Spain and India. During this time, they killed or enslaved hundreds of thousands of Jews, Christians, Persians, and Hindus.

Wahhabi taught that Islam then declined because Muslims stopped doing this. He taught that because of this, Allah punished Muslims by letting Christians dominate the world for the next thousand years.  Wahhab preached that this Christian dominance would come to an end if Muslims returned to true “path” (deen) of Muhammad and the first three generations of Muslims by living as they did.

Until the 1950s, Wahhab’s teachings had little influence in the Islamic world. However, that changed when billions of dollars of oil money began funding imams, teachers, and mass media programs to spread Wahhab’s teachings throughout the world. The Muslim Brotherhoods, which include Qatar, Al Qaida, ISIS and Hamas embrace the teachings of Mohammad Wahhab.
