Brian Fitzherbert On CBS Inside Edition: ‘Don’t Take Those Drones Lightly’.

A “drone” is an aircraft with no human pilot or crew on board.  It is controlled remotely. It is also known as an “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” (UAV) or Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).  A drone can be a toy as small as a toaster or a deadly weapon of war the size of an airplane.

For nearly three years, the Ukrainian army has used drones to destroy heavy Russian tanks and kill their crews. Israel has used drones to attack and kill Hamas gunmen.

Last July, Houthi terrorists in Yemen hit Israel with a drone that flew more than a thousand miles over Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea before hitting an apartment building in Tel Aviv. Its explosives killed one man asleep in his apartment and injured ten others in the neighborhood.

Last October, a Hezbollah drone from Lebanon hit a crowded dining hall at an Israeli army training base. It carried enough explosives to kill 4 soldiers, seriously maim 7, and injure 51 others.  Click here for link to full article:  Four soldiers killed, seven seriously hurt in Hezbollah drone strike on military base | The Times of Israel

Since last November 18, swarms of drones have been seen in the skies above New Jersey from dusk to 11pm.

According to our local Congressman Jeff Van Drew, reliable sources in the military believe an Iranian ship may be launching and controlling the drones. Pentagon officials deny that, but they have so far not stated where the drones are coming from.  Click here for article on Iranian drone ship being missing from its regular berth:  Iran’s New Drone Carrier Has Left Home Port for First Time: Sat Images – Business Insider

Governor Murphy stated that it is difficult to learn more about the drones because they respond when observed by turning off their lights and flying away.

Brian Fitzherbert, president of our organization, has worked with drones like these in the past. When interviewed by Inside Edition of CBS News, Fitzherbert said that we should be very concerned when drones are sophisticated enough to respond like this.

Biden government officials, and even Fox News have mocked Congressman Van Drew for suggesting that Iranians may be behind these drones.

However, Van Drew insists that he is simply repeating what reliable US military sources are telling him. So far, no federal, state or local government agency has publicly reported any details about any of the drones that have been sighted, or who owns and controls them.

This is similar to how the federal government dealt with the Chinese spy balloon in 2023. From January 28, 2023 to February 4, a Chinese spy balloon flew over the United States and Canada.  During that time dozens of private citizens observed and photographed that balloon for seven days as it flew over cities and military installations from Alaska to Canada.  The balloon had a motor and specifically maneuvered over sensitive military sites.

For a full week, nobody in the federal government explained what the balloon was doing or why it was there. The government did not take any action against the drone until it had completely crossed the United States.  President Biden ordered the Air Force to shoot it down only after it had travelled from the Pacific coast of Alaska to the Atlantic Ocean near South Carolina.

There are many reasons to be worried about these drones.  They could be used in a future terror attack.  They could be used to give terrorists training and experience in using drones.  They could be used to get Americans so used to the presence of drones in the sky that they will not recognize a real threat when it finally arrives.

Of course, we live in New Jersey, so we need a good sense of humor to cope with this!
