Our events in Somers Point on September 4 are for education, not fundraising. There is no charge for the ceremony and telling of the story at 10am at the Richard Somers Memorial Park at Shore Road and New Jersey Avenue in Somers Point, NJ. The $20 charge for our 11 am brunch at Sal’s Coal Fired Pizza, 501 New Road in Somers Point just covers our costs. However, our Liberty and Prosperity 1776, Inc. group needs funds to continue our activities for the rest of the year. Seth Grossman today explained how in 1804, Americans like Richard Somers began a series of events that shocked and changed the entire Islamic World. At that time, the Sultans of the Ottoman Turkish Empire were also the Caliphs of the entire Islamic World from Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean to the Philippines in the Pacific. When the young American navy showed the world how the Barbary “Pirates” could be beaten, the British, French, Spanish and Italians then occupied North Africa. They forced the Ottoman Turks, and Muslims throughout the world to respect the Christian west and to end their attacks against, demands for tribute from, and enslavement of Christians.
God’s Terrorists by Charles Allen explains how new Islamic leaders then emerged in Arabia and India. They rejected peace with the non-Muslim world and insisted on a return to the “pure” Islam of practiced by Muhammad and his followers a thousand years before. Their teachings led to the murder of 3,000 Americans in New York, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
