Help Us Choose Our 10 Key Issues for 2026

Above Image: Brochure of 11 Issues Agreed to Last Year.

Every year, we choose 10 key issues to focus on. We try to choose issues that meet these three requirements:

  1. They promote individual liberty, limited, inexpensive government, low taxes, “boundless opportunities,” and traditional American values.
  2. They are supported by most voters when properly explained.
  3. A major party candidate would benefit by supporting them in his or her campaign.

WE HOPE TO CHOOSE TEN KEY ISSUES AND AGREE ON FINAL WORDING AT OUR NEXT BUSINESS MEETING OF MEMBERS ON SATURDAY MAY 9, 2026.

To participate in this decision, please post your comments in the “comments” section or email them to info@libertyandprosperity.com. Or apply for membership and pay your $30 2026 dues and let us know your thoughts at the meeting.  Thanks.

Below is a list of eleven key issues that have been proposed so far, together with comments so far submitted by voting and non-voting members:

1.    Continue Mass Deportations of all foreigners who arrived illegally (after 2015*. Case-by-case review for others, but within existing quotas.*)                  *The following 5 voting members propose removing the 2015 limitation.  They want to continue mass deportations of all foreigners illegally in the country, regardless of when they arrived:  BF, DM, JK, PK, RM.**SG disagrees. He argues that illegals who arrived before 2015 who have jobs, learned English, and who never committed other crimes are the “best of the best” and should be allowed to apply for legal status equally with the 400,000 new immigrants allowed to apply each year under current 1965 law, He argues that:

a. Those illegals have ties in the communities where they live and work. They have enough political support to put Democrats back in control and to end all immigration enforcement.

b. The politicians who invited and allowed illegal aliens to work, file tax returns, drive, and collect benefits for more than 11 years are bigger criminals than the illegals who took advantage of these gifts.

c. There are hundreds of years of legal traditions that make unlawful rights legal if laws are not enforced for many years. They include “statutes of limitations”, “adverse possession”, “laches” and “estoppel.”

d. There is nothing wrong with accepting compromise when you are weak. Communists and Democrats do it all the time. The get half of what they want when they are weak. They demand and get the rest later when they are strong. (Republicans compromise when they are strong and then later give up the half they gained when they they are weak. Their problem is attitude, not compromising when weak.

  1.     Repeal the 1965 “Hart-Cellar” immigration law that began mass migration and “chain migration. Return legal immigration to 100,000 per year. Repeal all “Temporary Protected Status” laws above that quota. End asylum without documented proof of “well-founded fear ofpersecution in home country. End  “chain migration and “birthright citizenship.” Oppose the “Dignidad” bill and any immigration “reform”that fails to limit numbers of legal immigrants to less than 100,000 per year.

3.     Return to One Election Day with In-Person Voting and Photo ID. Return to Paper Ballots or Mechanical (Non-Electronic) Voting Machines. Absentee ballots to those with objectively documented illnesses, disabilities, or work-related travel plans. Voters must register with current address more than thirty (30) days before Election Day.

4. Defend and Apply the Plain Meaning of the U.S. Constitution. Oppose  Article V “Convention of States” to propose Amendments. Oppose “Interstate Compacts” to  use the corrupt “popular vote” of a few big states ito choose the President instead of votes in the Electoral College. Use the original intent of Article I, Section 8 and 9th and 10th Amendments of the Constitution we have.

  1.     Apply all laws, including tax laws, equally to everyone. Equally distribute the “Property Tax Relief Fund” of New Jersey Income to each school district based on the number of its students. (Sen. Michael Doherty Plan of 2022). Allow parents to apply that per-student amount to charter or private schools or homeschooling programs that teach the basic academic skills taught in public schools.
  1.     Protect The Unborn with Persuasion. No tax dollars or insurance mandates for abortions or Planned Parenthood propaganda. No punishment of doctors and nurses who refuse to abort pregnancies that do not endanger the life of the mother. Mandatory ultrasounds before non-emergency abortions to ensure informed consent.
  1.     Repeal all federal and state laws that force consumers and taxpayers to directly or indirectly pay more for wind or solar projects that charge more for usable electricity than projects using oil, natural gas or nuclear fuel. Repeal all federal and state laws that force consumers and taxpayers to directly or indirectly pay for projects or programs claiming to stop or reduce “climate change.” End all government subsidies of electric bills to both selected industries (including data centers) and consumers. End all restrictions on the construction of new gas, oil, and nuclear power plants pertaining to “climate change” that are not related to the safety of their operation.
  1.     Educate citizens on how followers of Muhammad attacked and murdered Christians, Jews, Hindus, Persians, and Buddhists and destroyed civilizations during the past 1400 years.

9. Protect the public from criminals and other uncivilized people. Long prison terms for people over the age of 14 who physically threaten, assault, rob, steal from, or damages or destroy the property of others. Confinement of those who use public sidewalks, streets, parks, or other public property as their personal residence. Construction and maintenance of whatever new jails, prisons, or mental institutions may be necessary. Removal and replacement of all law enforcement officers, judges, and administrators unwilling or unable to do this.

  1. End federal and state government mandates and grants (bribes) for local projects. Let voters and taxpayers of each community decide what local projects and programs to have, how to run them, and how to pay for them.
  1. Use objective tests and other proofs of knowledge, skills, and achievements as requirement for public employment instead of college diplomas of other artificial certifications.

COMMENTS RECEIVED FROM NON-VOTING MEMBER SINCE APRIL 17, 2026:

4/29/2026: (FS, Haddonfield, NJ) I suggest you and LP select two or three items, eight seems too many. My suggestions are #1, #4 and #6.

If I were writing this as a governor’s plan, it would say:

**Freeze all forced-retirement policies for reliable fossil fuel plants.**

**Approve new natural gas plants and pipeline infrastructure.**

**Preserve and expand the nuclear fleet, including uprates and advanced nuclear siting.**

**End mandates and subsidies that privilege unreliable solar, offshore wind, batteries, and forced electrification.**

**Reform permitting to accelerate all lawful energy infrastructure.**

**Modernize the grid for resilience and local reliability.**

**Protect consumer choice in heating, transportation, and appliances.**

4/28/2026: (DS, Vineland, NJ) I wouldn’t want to spread the agenda so broad as to make resources unreasonably thin, but if I could add some things for the parking lot, I’d add:
1. Freeze or reductions in spending on public education for at least 10 years, not adjusted for inflation.
2. No mandated medical interventions, particularly vaccines.
3. Eliminate biofuel, ethanol, incentives for auto gasoline.
4. Repeal anti-gun laws.

4/24/2026:  (JD, Atlantic City, NJ) “If they entered our country illegally they will never be

the BEST! DEPORT THEM! “

4/21/2026: (AG, Connecticut) I think your current list is sensible and solid.”

4/20/2026: (DM, Ocean City, NJ) ” I agree that anyone entering the US illegally before 2015 should also be deported. If you broke the law in 2016; you broke the law in 2015 and before.”

4/18/2026: (SA, Atlantic City, NJ)  “I definitely agree with those goals.”

4/17/2026: (BD, Franklinville, NJ) I agree with the 10 items listed.Another one might be the

FORCED overdevelopment in rural and suburban areas.”

4/18/2026: (JS, Ocean City, NJ) “My opinions are below after each question. Enjoy”.

Continue Mass Deportations of foreigners… “I’m

opposed to mass deportations. I’m all for stopping the inflow of new

illegal immigrants, but if they’re already here, let them apply for

citizenship.

Repeal the 1965 Hart-Cellar immigration law… “I’m not

familiar with that law.”

Return to One Election Day with In-Person Voting,

Photo ID, etc.: ABSOLUTELY!

Oppose Article V “Convention of States” to propose

Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. “I’m not familiar with the

article but amending the constitution is typically a bad idea, as

you’ve often demonstrated.”

Apply all laws, including tax laws, equally to everyone. Equally

distribute the “Property Tax Relief Fund” of New Jersey Income to each

school district based on the number of its students. (Sen. Michael

Doherty Plan). Allow parents to apply that per-student amount to

charter or private schools or homeschooling… “In favor.”

Protect The Unborn with Persuasion… Tough topic, but sounds like

we’re on the right path.

Repeal all federal and state laws that raise taxes and electric

bills to pay for wind and solar electricity… “Wind power is certainly

not the answer. Repeal the legislation that substantially limits the

efficiency of solar panels. We could all power our homes virtually for

free if solar tech was allowed to advance. It’s currently limited by

law to something very low, like 15% efficiency, so as not to compete

with fossil fuels.”

Educate citizens on the causes and effects of deadly attacks on

Christians, Jews, Hindus, Persians, and Buddhists by followers of

Muhammad during the past 1400 years. ”No need to fuel any further

hate. Educate citizens on the Law of One material. We are all God’s

children. Further, each and every one of us represents a narrow focus

of God’s consciousness. To harm another, is to harm God, as well as

ourselves. Follow the Golden rule.”

Protect the public from criminals and other uncivilized people.

Long prison terms for people over the age of 14 who physically

threaten, assault, rob, steal from, damage or destroy the property of

others more than once… “The prison system hasn’t stopped crime

anywhere. Lawbreakers need love and education. Rehabilitation and

healing. Tough to find in a prison. Send them to Krishna temples.”

End federal and state government mandates and grants (bribes) for

local projects. Let voters and taxpayers of each community decide what

local projects and programs to have, how to run them, and how to pay

for them. “Sounds nice enough, but voters rarely have sufficient

education on any project to make an informed decision. Nor will they

make the time to even get educated. Perhaps a council of elders could

do a better job.”
