Five days ago, Bangladesh had a secular government, police, and army that equally protected all citizens. Five days ago, it was overthrown by mobs. Since then, thousands of Muslims have been on a rampage against the unarmed and defenseless Hindus who make up 10% of the population. They are torturing and killing Hindu men, raping Hindu women, and kidnapping Hindu children. They are looting Hindu homes and businesses before burning them. Only armed Hindus in Hindu majority areas were safe.
Ninety percent of the people of Bangladesh are Muslim. Nine percent are Hindu. The rest are Buddhist or Christian.

Before 1947, Bangladesh was part of British India. At that time, British India included what is now India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Roughly 25% of all British India was Muslim. The other 75% were Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Christians.
After World War 2, Britain agreed to give independence to India. However, Muslim political leaders refused to be part of any independent nation where they would be in the minority. They demanded that Britain divide India into separate Muslim and non-Muslim majority nations.
In 1947, Britain agreed to a “two-state solution” for India. It allowed two parts of India to become a new Muslim majority nation of Pakistan. The western part of India is still called Pakistan. The eastern part was then called East Pakistan, but is now known as Bangladesh. The rest of India remained a Hindu majority nation. Many Sikhs, Buddhists, and Christians also live there.
Although there was some Hindu violence against Muslims, most Muslims in Hindu majority India were allowed to remain in peace. Today, Muslims are roughly 14% of Hindu majority India.
However, Hindus could not live in peace in Muslim majority Pakistan, including what is now Bangladesh. in 1947, Muslims in Pakistan murdered and terrorized Hindus and other non-Muslims and forced 90% of them to flee to India and elsewhere in the British Commonwealth. In 1947, 15% of Pakistan was non-Muslim. Today, less than 3% of population of the population of Pakistan is non-Muslim.
In 1947, Muslims in Bangladesh (then called East Pakistan) were more secular and tolerant than the mostly Wahabi or Salafi Muslims of West Pakistan. Because of this, more Hindus remained in what is now Bangladesh. At that time, roughly 28% of the people in what is now Bangladesh were Hindus
At first, Pakistan and what is now Bangladesh were both part of one country. However, in 1971, Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) won its independence after a nine-month war with Pakistan. One of the reasons, Bangladesh fought for independence was opposition to the intolerant Islamic government of Pakistan. In 1956, Pakistan adopted a new Constitution declaring it to be an Islamic Republic.

Thousands of Hindus who survived fled to India and other countries. By 1974, Hindus in Bangladesh were only 13.4% of the population.

According to British historian Charles Allen, the violent and intolerant Wahabi cult has dominated Islam in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan since the 1700s. That was when Waliullah of Delhi returned to India after studying with Muhammad Wahab himself in Arabia. After a Wahabi revolt in India was crushed by an alliance of British, Sikhs and Hindus in 1857, the Wahabis set up a school in Deoband, just north of Delhi. The Urdu word for “students” is “taliban”. Graduates of that Deoband school are often called The Taliban. They have dominated Islam in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan ever since.

Since 1973, Muslims in Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan) became more intolerant and towards non-Muslims. This was largely because the Wahabi Islamic regime of Saudi Arabia gained enormous wealth after the 1973 Yom Kippur War and oil embargo. Saudi Arabia gave massive new funding to the Deoband school and other Islamic organizations around the world. They sent thousands of imams and sophisticated videos and other teaching materials to spread violent and intolerant Wahabi and Salafi doctrines
During October of 2021, Muslim mobs attacked and terrorized thousands of Hindus throughout Bangladesh. They claimed this was justified because of a rumor that someone had insulted a copy of the Koran by placing it under the foot of a Hindu god. The Muslim mobs killed nearly a dozen Hindus, and destroyed hundreds of Hindu temples, homes and businesses. Even more Hindus fled the country. The most recent Muslim attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh began five days ago.

The British government recently issued orders for the arrest of anyone who shares social media posts it finds to be “inciting hatred”. If we were in Great Britain, we might get arrested for posting this.
There is a large Bangladesh population in Atlantic City. Every July, they hold a large festival in Bader Field.

On October 28, three weeks later, more than 500 members of the Pakistani and Bangladeshi community in Atlantic City held a rally in the park across the street from Stockton University campus in Atlantic City. There they voiced support for “Palestine”, that is the murderers! They then marched down Atlantic Avenue to a mosque on Florida Avenue.
So far, not one member of that community has publicly condemned the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Not one has even publicly mentioned it! Why?
The same violent and intolerant Wahabi and Salafi doctrines taught in mosques throughout Bangladesh area also taught in the mosques of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
