The New Jersey State Bar Foundation publishes a newspaper distributed to school children, The Legal Eagle. ??Watchdog Wire – New Jersey reports that this student newspaper, offered to grades 5 – 12, pushes a liberal slant on capital punishment, opposing the nanny state, banning sodas, banning certain types of food, and opposing the Obama agenda. ? The details of this propaganda effort are as follows:
Funding for?The Legal Eagle?is provided by the IOLTA Fund of the Bar of New Jersey.? The IOLTA Fund is comprised of interest earned on lawyers? trust accounts.? According to the?fund?s website, not less than 12.5% of the total fund is allocated to the New Jersey State Bar Foundation to provide a variety of free law-related educational programs to students, professionals, senior citizens, and the public.? In 2012, that amounted to $1.5 million.? The Foundation claims more than 350,000 elementary, middle and high school students receive? The Legal Eagle.
With groups like the NJ State Bar Foundation pushing liberalism, it becomes more important for parents who cherish liberty to pass on that love of freedom, liberty, and constitutional values to our children. ? Parents can prevent the liberal indoctrination so common today by taking an active role in the education of our children. ? One place to start is in keeping The?Legal Eagle out of your child’s school.
