Opposition to Christie’s Dune Project brings Tea Party, “progressives”, beach front millionaires, cottage retirees together in Margate.

Last night they met at Steve and Cookie’s by the Bay as??Margate Citizens Questioning Beach Project?.?? They planned their campaign ?to fight the project in Local Referendum on November 5.??? See their website for details at?www.mcqbp.org.???? This is a teachable moment for Liberty.?? Who should make the most important decisions in a community??? The people who live there, or far away politicians in Trenton and Washington who have their own agendas.?? And little knowledge or interest in the people most affected by their decisions.?? Here is what the people of Margate say:

1.? “Free” money from Federal government is very expensive.?? ?The feds will build the dunes.? But then Margate homeowners must pay AT LEAST $20 million to maintain them with expensive union contractors for next 40 years.

2.? Sand dunes not needed for protection in Margate.? Its wide beaches and wooden bulkheads do a better job.?? Margate flood insurance rates are lowest in? NJ.

3.? Most Sandy damage had nothing to do with sand dunes.??? Of 900 building permits for Sandy damage, only 86 were on beach block?mostly for wind damage in high rise condos.

4.? Man-made dunes are ugly, inconvenient, and create pools of stagnant water that cause bugs and disease.?? Which is why Jonathan Pitney got rid of the dunes in the first place in 1854!

  1. GODS WORD STANDS DON’T BE ONE WHO BUILT ON SAND FLOATING ON MAIN ST AFTER SANDY STORM
    Mat 7:24
    ?
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
    Tools specific to Mat 7:25
    Mat 7:25
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
    Tools specific to Mat 7:26
    Mat 7:26
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
    Tools specific to Mat 7:27
    Mat 7:27
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
    Tools specific to Mat 7:28
    Mat 7:28
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
    Tools specific to Mat 7:29
    Mat 7:29
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
