Opponents say their studies predict big price tags. State says cost of doing nothing far worse
To evaluate and justify the state’s position requires a cost benefit analysis. What are the costs of the unreliable wind and solar energy? No one knows! What are the climate impacts and their costs? At best they are guesstimates and also unknown. What will be the reductions in magnitude and frequency of climate impacts? This is never stated.
The Murphy Energy Plan is being implemented with unknown costs compared to questionable guesstimates costs to provide unstated benefits to justify replacing reliable energy with unreliable wind and solar energy.
Without the renewable energy costs no one can evaluate whether the wind and solar makes any economic sense or whether they could greatly damage New Jersey prosperity and society.
