Above Image: There are roughly 200,000 teachers and other public-school employees in New Jersey. State law requires each of them to join the NJEA and AFT Teachers Unions and pay roughly $1,000 each year in dues. Last Thursday and Friday, all public schools in New Jersey were closed so they could all could attend the NJEA Teachers’ Union Convention in Atlantic City. Here they were encouraged to provide programs like this in their classrooms.
Twenty years ago, we adopted and promoted this Eight Point Program For 2005:
-
Make all laws and taxes fair, simple, and applied equally to everyone.
-
Cut all taxes, tolls, fees, and hidden taxes on electricity, so most Americans can again depend on their own work, talent, and savings to buy what they need.
-
Repudiate (refuse to pay) any state government debt borrowed without voter approval as required by the NJ Constitution (Article VIII, Section II, paragraph 3).4.
-
Stop employers and unions from forcing employees to join unions as a requirement for employment. (Enact “Right To Work” Law
-
Distribute all NJ state income tax money (the “Property Tax Relief Fund”) equally for each public or private school student, and let each parent choose the school for his/her child. (Senator Michael Doherty Proposal)
-
Post all government salaries, contracts, and budgets on the internet.
-
Hold frequent non-binding referendums (public votes) on all issues of public importance.
-
Term limits for all elected officials. Pensions for none.
Last Tuesday, most Americans voted against what we don’t want. But what are we for? Can we agree on the most important issues for 2025 and adopt a new Eight Point Program?
Below is a list of 22 suggestions I made, based on our Saturday breakfast discussions during the past six months. Do you agree or disagree? What other issues should we consider. Which eight do you think are most important?
-
End Governor Murphy’s “Sanctuary” for foreigners in this state illegally. Right now, there are more than 600,000 illegal “migrants” in New Jersey alone. Have citizen volunteers and all agencies of federal, state, and local government cooperate to identify, detain, and systematically deport all foreigners in this country illegally. regardless of whether there is evidence they committed other crimes. Revoke all “paroles” illegally given by President Biden which purport to legalize foreigners with no legal right to be in this country.
