- KAHANE, WILLIAM ISRAEL “Will” – 69, of Ventnor, passed away on June 23, 2015. Born in Rimalev, Poland/Ukraine.? He came to the U.S. at age 4.? His family settled in Vineland where they, like many Jewish Holocaust survivors, became chicken farmers.??He graduated?Rutgers University on a Baron DeHirsch Scholarship for sons of Jewish farmers.?? He?served in?U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he had contact with the Agent Orange that later?killed him.???Will worked hard to persuade?the Veterans Administration to recognize the link between Agent Orange and pancreatic cancer for all Vietnam veterans.?? Will and his wife Nancy ran the Blue Amber Motel in Cape May for many years.?? He was also a respected Holocaust scholar and?talented film maker.? Will?produced top quality documentary films on topics that included the Holocaust and?Richard Somers.? He was a member of Liberty and Prosperity, and he donated his Galloway Township office to conservative Steve Lonegan’s campaign for Governor in 2009.???Will?was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Ari, in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kahane; beloved children, Ben (Ariel) Kahane, Adam Kahane, Natan Kahane, Raffi Kahane and Becki Kahane; his loving brother, Paul (Starr Taylor) Kahane and his beloved grandson, C.J. His funeral was held at?at Beth El Synagogue in Margate today.?? In lieu of flowers, contributions in Will’s memory may be made to Beth El Synagogue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Very sorry to hear this news. I only met Will a couple times but he always struck me as a really nice, and interesting, guy. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. He will be missed.
